Job Description:
Supervises, instructs and evaluates food and nutrition employees, in the preparation and service of meals for the patients, hospital staff, students and visitors. Supervises activities of work areas including kitchen, cafeterias, dishwashing room, and storeroom and cleaning procedures.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education/experience/licensing:
• Minimum of three years food service management at a managerial or supervisory level required, with a preference for experience in Healthcare operations.
• Must have a working knowledge of computers, food service equipment, sanitation and products.
• SERVE Certification preferred. Training will be provided to obtain certification within the first 6 months of employment. Must maintain certification.
• Associate degree in Food Management, or equivalent education in general management studies preferred. Must have High School diploma or equivalent.
• Requires full range of body motion, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination. Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time. May require lifting to 50 pounds or pushing carts.
Communication and other skills:
• Must be able to demonstrate customer service skills.
• Ability to read, write and communicate effectively.
