Job Description:
Performs all duties and responsibilities of an endoscopy technician role specifically as it relates to a procedural assistant to the physician and all aspects of processing functions to support the needs of the Endoscopy department under the direct supervision of the physician and registered nurse. Serve as an ambassador of UTMC in the community, demonstrating our organization’s values, services, and mission.
Minimum Qualifications:
1. One year of college life sciences or previous Endo Tech experience.
2. Must maintain BLS certification.
3. Ability to write legibly, speaks articulately, and follows directions accurately.
4. Ability to plan and organize work and to work under close supervision. Willingness to accept responsibility for performing delegated functions of this position and to perform delegated duties in accordance with established methods and procedures.
5. Must be able to move about hospital and between workstations.
6. Ability to tolerate strenuous physical activity such as turning, stooping, bending, stretching, walking, and lifting. Must be able to move, lift, and/or carry materials and equipment weighing up to 10 lbs., 15% of the time; 20 lbs., 10% of the time; 50lbs. , 2% of the time; and move materials weighing up to 100lbs. , 1% of the time.
7. Must successfully master technical procedures and become familiar with a broad range of medical surgical items during the 120-day probationary period.
8. Must be willing to rotate shifts and work weekends if needed.
