Job Description:

The Clinical Pharmacist-Solid Organ Transplant at The University of Toledo Medical Center (UTMC) works closely within the multidisciplinary team as the medication expert aiding in managing the complex pharmacotherapy regimens of solid organ transplant recipients in both the acute care and ambulatory care settings. Responsibilities include providing direct patient care as it pertains to drug therapy, facilitating transitions of care, as well as precepting and providing education to students, residents, pharmacists, and other health care professionals.

Minimum Qualifications:

1. Graduate of accredited pharmacy school.
2. Must hold current and unrestricted Ohio Pharmacist License.
3. PGY1 residency or 3 years of clinical pharmacy practice required.
4. Strong computer skills required.
5. Knowledgeable in physical, chemical, and pharmacological aspects of pharmacy practice with special interest and ability to develop and implement innovative pharmacy practice models and programming.
6. Demonstrates effective and culturally appropriate communications.
7. Utilizes effective communication to provide excellent customer services and a positive public image.
8. Must be able to withstand pressure due to work volume, interruptions, pace, job variety with an expected degree of accuracy

Physical Requirements:
• Visual acuity of 20/20 or corrected to 20/20 including color vision when applicable.
• Ability to hear (with or without aides).
• Ability to orally communicate.
• Good manual dexterity.
• Ability to stand or walk for long periods of time
• Able to lift not more than 50 pounds.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. PGY2 Residency in Solid Organ Transplant or equivalent experience in solid organ transplant (3-5 years) without a PGY2 Residency preferred.
2. Board certification or specialty certification preferred.
