Job Description:
The postdoctoral associate will develop methodology utilizing high precision analytical methods to assess contaminants in irrigation water from agricultural samples acquired by container growing operations.
Minimum Qualifications:
Qualifications/Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
• Ph.D. in Chemistry with a focus in Analytical Chemistry & experience in materials or synthetic chemistry.
• Experience working and troubleshooting with gas & liquid-chromatography and mass spectrometry instrumentation
• Experience characterizing organic/inorganic molecules by NMR, MS, IR, and other techniques.
• Knowledge of appropriate laboratory safety requirements
• Efficient time management and organizational skills
• Effective knowledge and skills utilizing computer technology
Communication and other skills:
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to read, speak, and write proficiently in scientific English
• Proven record of accomplishment publishing peer-reviewed publications in English language journals.
• Experience mentoring junior scientists such as graduate and undergraduate students.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with microextraction techniques, will be considered a plus, but is not required.
