Dean of Liberal Arts & Humanities SLCC – Lafayette
The Dean of Liberal Arts and Humanities, under the supervision of the Vice Chancellor of Academic & Student Affairs, provides transformational leadership for the development of general education, early college academy, dual enrollment, and effective delivery of these areas. Further, the successful incumbent must be able to manage and administer the overall organization of multiple departments/programs within the division including areas in English, Learning Foundations, Humanities, and Social Sciences. The Dean will lead and develop specific occupational programs which are broadly aligned with division offerings and the college’s strategic planning process.

WorkReady U Transitional Advisor SLCC – Morgan City
Responsible for working closely with WorkReady U and 5 for SIX students to develop college and career success skills through individual meetings and group training sessions. This position also serves as the main resource for students, referring them to academic and other support services both on campus and in the community. The WorkReady U Transitional Coordinator tracks student performance, and intervenes when necessary. The coordinator assists the instructor with day-to-day tasks such as maintaining student records, entering programmatic data, and developing external partnerships. Responsible for working closely with 5 for SIX students at each transition point throughout the program to ensure success while in program and into the college or a career through individual meetings and group trainings or orientations. Expected to assist 5 for SIX Scholarship application and selection process and tracking outcomes.

This position is grant funded by the federal Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) to help job seekers access employment, education, training, and support services to succeed in the labor market and to help employers hire and retain skilled workers. The Assistant Program Director for One-Stop Operations is responsible for managing the flow of the various One Stop systems and optimizing day-to-day activities. This position will track and analyze various reports, such as program budgets, operation activity, and department metrics for making the necessary improvements. Working in collaboration with the SLCC Accounting Department and Workforce Development Board (WDB) #40 finance staff, he/she will review invoices for payment, process and report on expenditures, maintain records of all activities, and ensure compliance with the guidelines with the TEGL regarding the utilization of Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) funds. The Culinary Instructor is responsible for providing classroom and lab instruction to prepare students for employment in a variety of jobs in the field of professional cooking in the Culinary industry. Instructors will follow American Culinary Federation and state-approved course syllabi for each area of instruction. Areas of instruction include sanitation and safety, culinary skills, nutrition, culinary calculations, dining room service, culinary production, food & beverage operations, baking and pastry, and a la Carte. Instructors are also responsible for maintaining accurate academic records in a computerized learning management system. These records include attendance, grades, and class/course syllabi for each class taught.

The Welding instructor will oversee the operation and maintenance of all shop equipment and keep an accurate inventory of tools, equipment and supplies for the proper instruction of students within his class. Instructors will follow state approved course syllabi for each area of instruction. Areas of instruction include safety, various processes and techniques of welding including oxyfuel cutting, carbon arc cutting, shielded metal arc welding, gas tungsten arc welding, fluxcored arc welding, gas metal arc welding, plasma arc cutting, blueprint reading, weld symbols, and joints. Instructors are also responsible for maintaining accurate academic records in a computerized learning management system. These records include attendance, grade, and class/course syllabi for each class taught.
