Instructor, Information Systems Technology SOWELA – Main Campus
SOWELA Technical Community College invites applications for a full-time, 9-month position in Information Systems Technology beginning in January 2022. Areas of specialization to be considered include networking, hardware/software, programming, cyber operations, and information systems management. The successful candidate will play a key role in extending and shaping SOWELA’s existing information systems technology program. This person will teach 15 hours per semester, with the possibility of overload, and will oversee/supervise the information systems technology interns. Summer course availability may be an option. The successful candidate will be skilled and competent in a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures; relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals; performs a variety of tasks; may lead and direct the work of others. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is expected; participates in professional development, training, and stays current in technological or pedagogical advances that promote student learning; and encourages students to earn industry-based certifications as they are made available.
HVAC Instructor SLCC – New Iberia
The Heating, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Instructor is responsible for providing instruction and performing lab related activities for the HVAC program. Instructors will follow state approved course syllabi for each area of instruction. Instructors are also responsible for maintaining accurate academic records in a computerized learning management system. These records include attendance, grades and class/course syllabi for each class taught.

Executive Director, Corporate Solutions & Talent Development SLCC – Lafayette
As an essential member of SLCC’s Corporate College team, the Executive Director, Corporate Solutions & Talent Development is responsible for managing the Corporate College sales team and oversee all customized training contracts. Under the leadership of the Vice President of Workforce & Economic Development, the Executive Director, Corporate Solutions & Talent Development will provide strategic direction and leadership in the long-term planning and daily operations of the Corporate College Business Development team (inside sales team and outside sales team). The Executive Director is responsible for developing strategic business alliances between SLCC’s Corporate College and industry partners to identify and sell customized contract corporate solutions and professional education programs that meet the changing needs of the labor force. The environment of higher education is changing at a rapid pace. Given these changes, along with new workforce development challenges, the Corporate College has a chance to grow this area to provide exceptional training opportunities to business and industry that address skill gaps and workforce shortages.
CTE Mobile Lab Driver-Operator SLCC – Lafayette
The Career and Technical (CTE) Mobile Lab Driver-Operator is responsible for safely driving and operating a multi-purpose vehicle on a part-time, as-needed basis. The vehicle consists of a fully automatic, diesel-powered Freightliner cab with a non-pivoting 33-ft straight body built on a motorhome conversion chassis and weighing approximately 54,000 GVWR-lbs. The driver-operator will be responsible for all functions related to the overall operations of the vehicle.
Workforce Training Coordinator - EMS SLCC – Lafayette
This position provides National EMS Academy students, and prospective students, access and connectivity to all student services at South Louisiana Community College. The incumbent must be effective at conveying information to all information session attendees, interested community members, applicants, students, and the College Community. The incumbent must have excellent customer service, presentation and communication skills to ensure that prospective students have a transparent and streamlined enrollment experience. This position is a collaboration between SLCC and the National EMS Academy. The position is required to participate in SLCC college-wide and NEMSA specific recruitment activities as an official representative of South Louisiana Community College, assisting with service to students and prospective students. It requires travel to all NEMSA sites and occasional overnight stay.
Counselor SOWELA – Main Campus
This position is responsible for the clinical operation of Counseling Services at the main campus and instructional sites including knowledge of student counseling techniques and an ability to work well with individuals of diverse backgrounds. The counselor also provides support with Disability Services.
Program Manager - TRiO Educational Opportunity Center SLCC – New Iberia
The EOC Program Manager will be responsible for coordinating and implementing programs and services to help improve the educational outcomes of program participants. This position will ensure adequate delivery and compliance with program guidelines and regulations, supervise the program staff, and support program participants. Job duties include planning and implementing a grant-funded program initiative of the College. The EOC Program Manager will oversee and administer all facets of the day-to-day operations of the services and activities, which will involve leading, communicating, delegating, as well as participating. This position works under the supervision of the Executive Director for Academic Initiatives. This position is funded 100% by a federal grant from the U.S. Department of Education. This position will be a fast-paced career in staffing, retention, training, and general human resources functions for the College.
