What You'll Do: 

• Deliver engaging, hands-on instruction in pipefitting for credit and non-credit courses.
• Teach safe and proper use of tools, equipment, supplies, and fitting procedures.
• Inspect student work and assess the quality, accuracy, and strength of pipefitting projects.
• Complete fitting inspection and student progress documentation.
• Develop course materials, syllabi, assignments, assessments, and demonstrations aligned with approved curriculum.
• Maintain a safe, organized, and industry-relevant learning environment.
• Ensure classroom, laboratory, equipment, and instructional technology are operational.
• Provide timely feedback, tutoring, advising, and mentorship to students.
• Help students prepare for employment, certification, licensure, and continued education.
• Build relationships with business and industry partners to support workforce opportunities.
• Participate in program advisory committees, recruitment and retention activities, college events, professional development, and required meetings.
• Teach welding courses when qualified and assigned.
• Work occasional early mornings, evenings, or weekends based on course and program needs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Required Qualifications: 

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 36 months of professional pipefitting experience.
• Knowledge of and ability to teach a variety of pipefitting courses.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Effective instructional techniques and a student-centered approach.
• Computer proficiency and strong organizational skills.
• Commitment to safety, professionalism, inclusion, and student achievement.

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

• NCCER Core certification.
• OSHA certification.
• Certified Welding Inspector credential.
• Teaching experience at the college or high school level.
• Welding experience or instructional qualifications.

NCCER Core or OSHA certification may be obtained within the first 90 days of employment.
