Duties and Responsibilities: 

Work Habits – 50%

  • Greet students, employees, families, and visitors and direct them to the appropriate office, resource, service, or institutional contact.
  • Answer incoming phone calls and provide general information in response to inquiries regarding services, programs, and institutional resources.
  • Review and respond to assigned emails and general inquiries with accurate, timely, and up-to-date information.
  • Provide basic service navigation and assist students in identifying the appropriate office or department to address their needs.
  • Manage assigned calendars, appointments, meeting schedules, and shared administrative resources.
  • Submit and monitor FMX requests, information technology tickets, and other operational requests for assigned functional areas.
  • Coordinate administrative and logistical needs for conferences, events, meetings, trainings, and departmental activities.
  • Assist with the preparation, organization, and distribution of correspondence, documents, forms, and informational materials.
  • Maintain organized electronic and physical records in accordance with departmental and institutional procedures.
  • Support the daily operations of assigned offices, centers, and shared student service spaces.
  • Perform other administrative and operational duties necessary to support the effective delivery of Student Affairs services.

  • Demonstrate professionalism, courtesy, discretion, and responsiveness in all interactions with students, employees, families, visitors, and community partners.
  • Provide accurate correspondence, information, and timely updates to leadership regarding calls, emails, requests, concerns, and other matters received.
  • Maintain confidentiality and appropriately handle sensitive student and institutional information.
  • Exercise sound judgment when determining when inquiries or concerns should be referred or escalated to appropriate staff or leadership.
  • Maintain working knowledge of Student Affairs programs, services, office functions, and available institutional resources.
  • Maintain a welcoming, organized, and service-focused environment within assigned work areas.

Team Relations – 10%

  • Collaborate with offices and departments within Student Affairs to develop a working understanding of programs, services, and resources available to students.
  • Identify and maintain awareness of campus partners within Academic Services, Institutional Advancement, Workforce Development, and other institutional areas to support effective student and family navigation.
  • Participate in departmental and divisional meetings, trainings, and activities, as assigned.
  • Support shared projects, events, and initiatives that advance divisional and institutional priorities.

Institutional Support – 10%

  • Complete all required institutional training, professional development, and certifications associated with the successful performance of assigned job functions.
  • Adhere to College policies, procedures, service standards, and applicable state and federal requirements.
  • support institutional initiatives, special projects, events, and activities, as assigned.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to the mission, values, and student-centered service philosophy of South Louisiana Community College.
  • Perform other duties as assigned in support of Student Affairs and the College.

Minimum Qualifications: 

High school diploma and one year of experience in customer service.
