Duties and Responsibilities:
Work Habits: 30%
• Coordinates and supervises the daily operations of contracted security personnel assigned to the South Louisiana Community College locations.
• Acts as the field supervisor for the Office of Campus Security at the Lafayette Campus by responding to incidents on campus, including safety concerns, criminal activity, accidents, and other emergencies, while preparing detailed incident reports as necessary.
• Coordinates scheduling for contracted security personnel to ensure appropriate coverage for campus operations and events.
• Conducts onboarding and operational training for contracted security personnel, ensuring they are familiar with the Office of Campus Security's procedures and expectations.
• Performs payroll administration and verification for contracted security personnel.
• Serves as a liaison between the College and the contracted security services provider to address operational needs, scheduling issues, and service quality.
• Assists in monitoring compliance with all access control procedures and security policies.
• Conducts routine inspections and security audits to identify potential safety concerns or lapses in security practices.
• Supports the College's parking program and management of event parking on the Lafayette campus.
• Capable of performing all essential duties and responding to emergencies 24/7.
• On occasion, may be required to fulfill post duties at other SoLAcc campuses during vacancies or absences.

Institutional Support: 20%
• Responsible for ensuring contracted security services consistently align with institutional expectations for professionalism, responsiveness, safety, and customer service.
• Supports implementation of campus security procedures and protocols established by the Office of Campus Security at all SoLAcc locations.
• Assists with documenting and reviewing security incidents to help identify trends and improve response procedures.
• Supports the development and refinement of campus safety and emergency preparedness initiatives.
• Works with local and state public safety agencies when required during incidents or training exercises.
• Reports all relevant student-related incidents to the Office of Judicial Services as required.
Team Relations: 20%
• Supports emergency preparedness efforts for the Lafayette Campus, including drills, exercises, and training activities.
• Assists with coordinating emergency response drills such as lockdown, evacuation, and active threat scenarios.
Other duties as assigned.
Required Experience:
Two years of experience in a security, safety, or risk management-related field
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Knowledge of physical security principles, access control procedures, emergency response practices, and campus safety operations.

• Ability to support emergency preparedness activities including drills, exercises, evacuation procedures, lockdown protocols, and active threat response initiatives.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word, Excel, and Teams.
• Ability to learn and utilize security-related technology systems including access control systems, surveillance platforms, incident reporting systems, scheduling systems, and work order platforms.
• Ability to maintain accurate electronic records and operational documentation.
• Ability to perform payroll verification, scheduling coordination, and administrative tracking functions accurately and efficiently.
• Strong customer service orientation with the ability to provide professional assistance to students, employees, visitors, and community partners.
• Ability to respond to operational needs, incidents, or emergencies outside of standard working hours when necessary.
Required Licenses or Certifications:
• Criminal Background Clearance required.
• Valid driver's license required.
Preferred Experience:
Two years of supervisory experience in a security, safety, or risk management-related field.
