What You'll Do:
• Respond to internal and external data requests with accuracy, consistency, and on-time delivery.
• Use Excel (and related tools) to clean, organize, validate, and analyze large institutional datasets from multiple sources.
• Co-manage the data request system to track, prioritize, and fulfill reporting needs efficiently.
• Compile, verify, and publish data for key institutional reports, including semester/annual “Facts” reports and the Program Health Index (PHI).
• Maintain the data warehouse by saving and updating critical Cognos reports at key reporting points (e.g., 14th day, End of Term).
• Support data audits and student data verification to ensure integrity and compliance.
• Assist with design, distribution, and analysis of institutional surveys (student, faculty, alumni, employer, advisory boards) and translate results into actionable insights.
• Organize and summarize advisory board feedback to inform planning, program improvement, and reporting.
• Support Records and Registration with year-round registration maintenance, data clean-up, and related projects.
• Contribute to special research projects, committee work, professional development, and college-wide initiatives.
Required Qualifications:
• Associate’s degree in Information Systems, Data Science, Business, or a related field plus five years of relevant experience; or a Bachelor’s degree in a related field (which may substitute for the Associate’s degree and five years’ experience).
• 1–2 years of experience in institutional research, data management, reporting, or a closely related area.
• Advanced Excel skills (formulas, filters, pivot tables, data cleaning) and comfort working with large datasets.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities with a focus on accuracy and data integrity.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills and the ability to collaborate across departments.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and handle confidential information responsibly.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with reporting and data tools such as Cognos, SQL, or similar platforms.
• Familiarity with higher education data systems, reporting requirements, and institutional research practices.
• Experience designing and analyzing surveys using tools like Qualtrics or SurveyMonkey.
