Duties and Responsibilities:
Work Habits: 30%
• Coordinate the daily operations of the Accommodations and Disability Services office.
• Manage the intake process, including application submission, documentation collection, and initial eligibility review.
• Schedule and facilitate meetings between students and appropriate college staff for accommodation planning.
• Maintain a comfortable, quiet, and secure testing environment.
• Administer, monitor, coordinate, and proctor college-wide testing.
• Tests include, but are not limited to, Accuplacer, CLEP, TEAS, Pearson Vue, Praxis, TOEFL, Certiport, WorkKeys, HiSet and proctored exams.
• Assist with the coordination and scheduling of testing services, including ADA-related test accommodations.
Behavioral Standards: 30%
• Serve as the first point of contact for students seeking ADA support.
• Maintain accurate student files in compliance with ADA and Section 504 regulations.
• Adhere to departmental and/or external testing regulations, policies, and procedures before, during, and after test administration. ·
• Perform the check-in/out process, verify student identification, and provide proper testing instructions.
• Ensure that only permitted items are carried into the testing room and that remaining possessions are properly stored.
• Monitor examinees while testing to ensure that resting regulations are strictly followed.
Institutional Support: 20%
• Travel to SoLAcc campuses to ensure ADA compliance and accessibility standards are being met.
• Provide training and consultation for faculty and staff on ADA-related procedures, laws, and best practices.
• Serve as a backup and first point of contact for the Testing Center when needed.
• Support the continuous improvement of testing processes and documentation standards.
Team Relations: 20%
• Assist with the administration and oversight of approved accommodations for testing, classroom, and campus environments.
• Perform administrative tasks in the testing center such as answering the phone and handling routine inquiries from internal and external customers.
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma and one year of clerical or administrative experience.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Language Skills:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex documents. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquires or complaints. Ability to write speeches and articles using original or innovative techniques or style. Ability to make effective and persuasive speeches and presentations on controversial or complex topics to top managements, public groups, and/ or boards of directors. Must be able to demonstrate the proven abilities of intellectual reasoning, power of persuasion, and consistent dedication to the position.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical interference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Computer Skills: Knowledge of Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word) and LOLA BANNER student Information System. Ability to learn creative uses of technology in the delivery of services for students is required.
Other Qualifications: Ability to work independently using effective communication skills with minimal supervision. Ability to provide information and materials related to career, transfer, and advising services for academic and technical students. Provide outstanding customer service to students and internal and external customers.
Required Licenses or Certifications: Criminal Background Clearance. Valid Driver’s License.
