The Director of Enterprise Applications and Application Development leads the strategic and operational direction of enterprise applications and the application development efforts for the LCTC and its member colleges, ensuring alignment with institutional goals. The role is responsible for ensuring the effectiveness, reliability, security, and scalability of enterprise solutions that support students, faculty, staff, and administration.

The Director leads and develops a team of technical and functional professionals, driving performance excellence through coaching, feedback, and ongoing development. The role champions and orchestrates the delivery of best-in-class support and the continuous improvement of enterprise platforms to enhance the overall customer experience.

Duties and Responsibilities: 

    • Strategic Leadership
      • Provide vision and direction for enterprise applications, identifying emerging technologies and best practices.
      • Guide system-wide adoption of innovative solutions that enhance institutional effectiveness and user experience.
    • Continuous improvement
      • Engage stakeholders to understand needs and assess effectiveness.
      • Collaboratively develop, prioritize, and implement solutions.
      • Assess build vs buy options to elevate the effectiveness of the systems.
      • Enable usability and efficiency while reducing redundant tasks and manual data entry as appropriate.
    • Performance management
      • Establish clear performance expectations.
      • Manage to employees’ strengths – ensure they are positioned to succeed.
      • Provide appropriate tools and training.
      • Motivate, empower, and develop employees to achieve their best results. 
      • Create a culture of accountability. Provide constructive and positive feedback.  Recognize and reward the desired performance.
      • Remove roadblocks and streamline processes.
    • Governance and Standards
      • Establish and enforce standards, policies, and procedures for enterprise applications, including:
        • Information security
        • Configuration and change management
        • Disaster recovery and business continuity
        • Quality assurance and compliance
    • Operations and Support
      • Oversee day-to-day operations and support of all enterprise applications.
      • Prioritize and manage incident response, ensuring timely resolution of issues.
      • Lead and mentor applications support teams to deliver high-quality service.
    • Project and Resource Management
      • Develop and manage project plans, timelines, and budgets.
      • Allocate resources effectively across multiple initiatives.
      • Monitor progress, mitigate risks, and communicate project status to stakeholders.
      • Resolve conflicts across teams and functional areas.
      • Provide regular status updates to stakeholders and appropriate leadership
    • Application Development and Delivery
      • Deliver enterprise solutions that are secure, scalable, cost-effective, and resilient.
      • Ensure alignment of technology solutions with organizational goals and user needs.
    • Data and Analytics Leadership
      • Provide leadership in data warehousing and business intelligence initiatives.
      • Promote data-driven decision-making across the organization.

Required Education:
Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, or a related field from an accredited institution.

Required Experience: 
• Extensive experience with Banner ERP, including implementation, administration, optimization, data migration, reporting, end-user training, and transformation of the end-user experience.
• Minimum of five (5) years of progressive leadership experience with demonstrated success in improving systems, services, and team performance.
• Proven ability to influence and collaborate across organizational boundaries without direct authority.
• Experience managing multiple complex projects, including planning, scheduling, and resource coordination.

Preferred Education: 
Master’s degree from an accredited institution.

Preferred Experience: 
• Experience within a multi-institution (Multi-Entity Processing) higher education system.
• Experience leading data warehousing and business intelligence initiatives.
• Experience leading the migration to a SaaS ERP environment.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: 
• Knowledge of enterprise architecture, cloud platforms, and modern application frameworks.
