Baton Rouge Community College (BRCC) is seeking a dynamic and visionary leader to serve as Dean of Nursing and Allied Health. The Nursing and Allied Health Division Dean at Baton Rouge Community College is responsible for providing divisional leadership that supports the mission, vision, and strategic goals of the College, Academic Affairs, and Workforce Development. The position is responsible for overseeing the development, implementation, evaluation, and management of the Division's instructional programs, services, budget, and employees in the Division's instructional disciplines/programs. He or she is a member of the institutional administrative team and is responsible for the day-to-day operation of his/her division. The division dean serves as the direct supervisor to the department chairs, workforce development specialist(s), and support staff within the division. The dean works directly for the Assistant Vice-Chancellor for Academic and Workforce Development in the administration of the function and duties listed below.
Duties and Responsibilities: 40%
• Provides strategic, collaborative, innovative leadership and oversight of departmental plans relating to academic and workforce programs, curriculum, scheduling, and learning environments to assure institutional effectiveness and efficiencies, respond to student needs, and meet accreditation and regulatory requirements.
• Establishes strong relationships with local industry representatives to determine workforce and or talent needs and assesses the business organizations and provides a comprehensive evaluation of employment and training needs.
• Develops and maintains relationships with training providers in order to develop necessary and responsive workforce solutions.
• Provides opportunities for business and industry to assist with the development of training programs to include: apprenticeships, internships, job shadowing and work-based learning.
• Builds and maintains productive relationships with public-sector, private-sector, and non-profit employers to create career pathways for future talent.
• Build and maintain strong partnerships with economic development entities, chamber organizations, and other workforce development agencies to ensure alignment and execution of collaborative workforce strategies, including Talent Pipeline Management.
• Ensures that Division plans align with and support the College's mission, vision, strategic initiatives, and the Academic and Workforce goals.
• Provides leadership, supervision, and guidance to faculty and staff within the school
• Provides leadership and oversight of programs and curriculum, instructional delivery across all modalities, and assessment activities.
• Establishes and maintains collaborative working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Develops, manages, and plans the Division’s operating budget.
• Establishes and maintains collaborative working relationships with business and industry partners, agencies, community organizations and/or education institutions.

• Supports full-time faculty through the onboarding and promotion processes; provides ongoing support for all faculty throughout their careers.
• Fosters the development of Programs within the division to support and student success.
• Enhances non-credit to credit educational pathways for students.
• Supports enrollment management and marketing strategies to enhance program health, recognition and growth.
• Models and maintains high performance professional standards and expectations.
• Ensures a division environment in which all individuals are treated equitably and with respect

• Actively participates on and/or leads various College committees, meetings, and workgroups.
• Responds to faculty, staff and student concerns in a timely manner, maintaining integrity and appropriate confidentiality throughout the process.
• Actively participates in professional development relevant to higher education and their disciplinary field.

Required Education: Master's degree in nursing and Allied Health or related field.
Required Experience: • 3 years of progressive administrative experience at the collegiate level in a leadership role.

Preferred Education: PhD in Nursing or Allied Health related field.
Preferred Experience: • 5 years of progressive administrative experience at the collegiate level in a leadership role
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: • Louisiana state service (i.e. employment in a state agency in Louisiana)
• Community College experience
