What You'll Do: 

• Coordinate the program’s clinical education component in collaboration with the Program Director.
• Recruit, orient, evaluate, and develop clinical affiliates, instructors, and preceptors.
• Visit clinical sites regularly to monitor student progress, clinical experiences, and instructional quality.
• Assign, supervise, guide, and evaluate students in clinical learning experiences.
• Teach assigned lecture, laboratory, and clinical courses using engaging, student-centered methods.
• Facilitate critical thinking, professional judgment, and clinical readiness.
• Develop and maintain course syllabi, laboratory modules, instructional materials, assessments, and grade records in accordance with approved curricula and accreditation requirements.
• Coordinate and improve student laboratory experiences, including equipment, supplies, technology, safety, and housekeeping.
• Provide timely feedback, academic advising, mentoring, tutoring, and referrals to support student success, retention, and completion.
• Maintain accurate student files, clinical records, assessment data, and program documentation.
• Support curriculum development, program review, continuous improvement, accreditation, and effectiveness assessment.
• Recruit, orient, mentor, and support full-time, adjunct, and clinical faculty.
• Participate in student recruitment, admissions, advising, progression, readmission, transfer, retention, and withdrawal activities.
• Serve as an advisor and mentor for the Student Respiratory Care Association.
• Build relationships with healthcare employers and community partners to support clinical education, employment opportunities, and workforce development.
• Participate in advisory committee meetings, college events, professional development, committees, recruitment activities, and other college initiatives.
• Maintain current respiratory therapy credentials, licensure, professional knowledge, and teaching expertise.
• Uphold College and LCTC policies, accreditation standards, legal requirements, and a culture of respect, inclusion, professionalism, and student-centered service.
• Meet all instructional, office-hour, communication, reporting, professional development, and attendance requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Required Qualifications: 

• Associate degree in respiratory therapy or a related field, with current enrollment in—or a commitment to enroll in—a bachelor’s program and complete it within two years of hire. 
• At least four years of experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist, including a minimum of two years in clinical respiratory care.
• At least two years of teaching experience as:
      o Faculty in a CoARC-accredited respiratory care program; or
      o A clinical instructor or preceptor for students enrolled in a CoARC-accredited respiratory care program.
• Completion of the CoARC Key Personnel Training Program.
• Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential.
• Current, unrestricted state respiratory therapy license.
