Duties and Responsibilities:
• Maintain performance standards and pursue goals, objectives, and activities that promote the mission, vision and value statement of the College.
• Coordinate and Proctor a variety of tests, including but not limited to: ACCUPLACER, HESI A-2, and other college course exams, HiSET, ASE, and all other exams offered by the institution.
• Train back up proctors to understand their responsibilities and adhere to testing protocols. Provide support and guidance to proctors during test sessions.
• Ensure that testing procedures comply with college policies and guidelines.
• Expand test proctor opportunities.
• Maintain quiet atmosphere for testing while safeguarding the confidentiality and security of all testing materials, records, and documents by implementing proper procedures for test distribution, collection, and storage. Monitor test sessions to prevent cheating and academic dishonesty.
• Inventory and coordinate ordering of exams on an ongoing basis with supervisor. Return testing materials to the appropriate instructors, agencies, or other colleges as required.
• Manage the scheduling of exams, including coordinating with faculty, staff, students, and outside agencies to determine testing dates, times, and locations.
• Assist students needing special accommodations, including reading assistance, scribing support, or facilitating customized testing environment.
• May assist with the design and distribution of flyers, handouts, and door signs regarding the Testing Center’s hours and rules.
• Serve as point of contact for inquiries related to testing services, policies, and procedures. Address concerns and resolve issues in a timely and professional manner.
• Collaborate with other departments to provide testing needs for students.
• Foster, demonstrate, and actively participate in a culture of mutual respect for students, guests, and co-workers from all backgrounds, perspectives and abilities. Communicate effectively with students, colleagues, and supervisors and utilize appropriate channels of communication within the college community concerning procedures and/or inquiries.
• Attend and participate in scheduled activities, which include graduation, open house/recruiting events as assigned, convocation, and required meetings. Share ideas and information, and work toward common department and College goals.
• Serve on college committees as a member or as chair. Serve on search committees.
• Participate in professional development activities that enhance effectiveness (convocation, LCTCS conference, etc.).
• Represent the college in a manner that promotes a professional and positive image.
• Adhere to College and LCTCS policies.
• Embrace college culture.
• Complete all required trainings prior to deadlines (Fletcher, LCTCS, etc.).
• Perform other related duties as assigned
Required Education: Associate’s degree and five years of experience. Bachelor’s degree may substitute for the Associate’s degree and five years experience.
Required Experience: Exceptional customer service experience, exceptional communication skills. Ability to interpret documents and data, prioritize and summarize requests and work in a fast-paced environment. Problem solving abilities and experience. Proficiency in the use of networked personal computer, associated software, organizational, and project coordination skills. Effective written and verbal communication skills are required. Alternative or combined skills in understanding, counseling, and/or influencing people are important in achieving job objectives, causing action, understanding others, or changing behavior; and, skills of persuasiveness or assertiveness, as well as sensitivity to the point of view of others.
