The PBI Holistic Advisor serves as a dedicated resource for high school students participating in the college’s dual enrollment program. This position provides proactive advising, academic monitoring, and holistic support to ensure student success in college-level coursework while still enrolled in high school. The Advisor guides students through course selection, assists with academic challenges, and helps them prepare for postsecondary pathways. The Advisor also assists in recruitment, facilitates orientation and outreach events, and supports students’ smooth transition from high school to full-time college enrollment. The role requires close collaboration with high school partners, faculty, parents/guardians, and college personnel to foster academic achievement, equity, and student persistence.
Duties and Responsibilities: Academic Advising & Student Support
• Provide proactive academic advising for dual enrollment students, including course selection, degree/credential pathways, and transfer options.
• Monitor academic progression through regular check-ins, academic alerts, and transcript audits.
• Develop individualized academic support strategies for students experiencing academic challenges.
• Refer students to college resources such as tutoring, counseling, accessibility services, and career services.
Recruitment & Outreach
• Represent the college at high school recruitment events, parent nights, and information sessions.
• Collaborate with admissions and enrollment teams to increase participation in dual enrollment programs.
• Develop informational materials, presentations, and workshops to promote program opportunities.
Event Coordination
• Plan, host, and facilitate dual enrollment orientations, workshops, and recognition events.
• Organize academic success programming, including college readiness and transition workshops.
• Serve as liaison for student engagement activities related to dual enrollment.
Transition Support
• Assist dual enrollment students in transitioning from high school graduation into full-time college enrollment.
• Provide guidance on admissions, financial aid, degree planning, and student onboarding.
• Partner with academic departments to streamline credit transfer and degree pathway completion.
Partnership & Collaboration
• Maintain communication with high school counselors, teachers, and administrators regarding student progress and program requirements.
• Collaborate with faculty and staff to align dual enrollment courses with college academic standards.
• Participate in institutional committees and meetings related to dual enrollment and student success
Required Education: Bachelor's degree in education, Counseling, or related field.
Required Experience: • At least two years of experience in academic advising, student services, or related higher education/student support role.
• Knowledge of academic advising principles, student development theory, and college readiness standards.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.

Required Licenses or Certifications:
Preferred Education: Bachelor's degree in education, Counseling, or related field
Preferred Experience: • Experience working directly with high school populations, dual enrollment, early college, or transition-to-college programs.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: • Familiarity with state and federal dual enrollment policies, higher education compliance, and FERPA regulations.
• Bilingual or multilingual proficiency.
• Demonstrated commitment to equity and supporting underrepresented student populations.
