Duties and Responsibilities: 

Instructional Duties
Facilitate assigned College and Career Readiness (CCR: ELA, Math, Social Studies, and Science) and English Language Learning (ELL) classes at various campuses, sites, and modalities (both online and in person) using instructional methods geared toward adult learners.
Facilitate curriculum based on the learning needs of culturally diverse and multi-skill level students, which prepare students to enhance communication skills, basic education skills and/or pass high school equivalency tests.
Provide students with opportunities to practice and demonstrate learning objectives and share targeted feedback.
Keep daily attendance records and progress reports. Maintain accurate, complete, and up-to-date records.
Provide guidance and support to all instructional staff in all modalities, sharing curriculum and best practices for classroom facilitation.
Provide feedback and accountability to all instructors in online classes regarding feedback and attendance.
Support online orientation classes to ensure new online students are prepared to access the online platform and curriculum.
Leverage available technology to both increase access to and impact of instruction. Follow all policy set forth by administration to measure and document student educational gains, attendance, and attainment of goals.
Participate in all local and state professional development activities that are developed and recommended by DCCAEP administration.
Attend all staff meetings and in-service workshops.
Adhere to policy and procedure regarding confidentiality of student records.
Maintain a clean and professional classroom environment.

Management & Leadership Duties
Engage in regular meetings with the Leadership team to review and align programmatic structure.
Communicate regularly with instructional staff policy, procedure, and programmatic updates.
Collaborate with the Instructional team to develop a strategic plan for CCR and ELL programming.
Coordinate program offerings at all sites and modalities.
Support the new hiring process by screening candidates, interviewing, and onboarding new hires.
Build and lead the observation cycle for all instructors to demonstrate classroom facilitation.
Standardize evaluation and feedback methods.
Participate and manage registration, testing, and scheduling events. Monitor student engagement students in all aspects of Adult Education programming (CCR, ELL, Certification, Accuplacer).
Communicating with the Operational and Support Services regarding students transitioning between modalities, and other adult education programming or services (Coaching, Certification, Accuplacer).
Maintain awareness of staff attendance issues or irregularities.
Document and communicate inconsistencies with the appropriate team leader; assist in finding substitute staffing if needed.
Serve as point-person for the reporting of staff issues, student incidents, or concerns.
Ensure that these reports are documented and promoted to the next step in the process.
Soliciting feedback and taking initiative and responsibility for program related problem solving.

Curriculum Duties
Research and audit ELA, Math, Social Studies and Science and ELL curriculum for program wide implementation.
Develop standards based curriculum for adult learners in both CCR and ELL programming.
Curate and design curriculum based on the learning needs of culturally diverse and multi-skill level students, which prepare students to enhance communication skills, basic education skills and/or pass high school equivalency tests.
Develop and lead staff professional development. Create and revise internally generated curriculum.

Required Education: Bachelor's degree in education

Required Experience: 3-5 years in adult education, K-12 or higher education

Professional demeanor and ability to interact successfully with a diverse population of faculty, staff, and students.
Experience using Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel and Powerpoint, and cloud-based applications and tools.
Able to work on sensitive issues with discretion and a commitment to confidentiality. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Able to thrive in a fast-paced and demanding environment with minimal supervision and a high degree of flexibility.
Strong problem solving and organizational skills. Able to prioritize multiple on- going projects and responsibilities.

Preferred Education: Master's degree with an emphasis in curriculum and instruction

Preferred Experience: Bilingual (English + Spanish or Vietnamese)
