Duties and Responsibilities:
• Deliver engaging and industry-relevant classroom and lab instruction in Industrial Instrumentation and related fields.
• Develop, revise, and implement curriculum to meet current industry standards and workforce needs.
• Teach courses including (but not limited to): Instrumentation Fundamentals, Control Systems, PLCs, Industrial Electronics, Calibration Techniques, and Process Control.
• Integrate safety practices, hands-on training, and modern instructional technologies into instruction.
• Evaluate student progress through assessments, lab exercises, and performance-based evaluations.
• Maintain accurate student records, attendance, grades, and related documentation.
• Collaborate with industry partners, advisory committees, and college leadership to align program outcomes with labor market demands.
• Provide academic and career guidance to students.
• Participate in college-wide initiatives including recruitment, retention, and continuous improvement efforts.
• Maintain industry certifications at or above the level you will be instructing and participate in professional development to stay current in the field.
Required Education:
• Associate’s degree or higher in Industrial Instrumentation Technology or a closely related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of recent industry experience in instrumentation, process control, automation, or industrial systems.
• Strong understanding of industrial sensors, transmitters, control loops, PLCs, HMIs, and calibration equipment, including HART® communicators.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Commitment to student success and diverse learning environments.
Preferred Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• Prior teaching or training experience at the college or technical school level.
• Industry certifications such as NCCER Instrumentation, ISA Certified Control Systems Technician (CCST), NC3®, or similar.
• Familiarity with OSHA safety practices and industrial safety protocols.
• Experience using instructional technology, learning management systems (LMS), and simulation software.
• Familiarity with the CANVAS® LMS and NIDA trainers and LMS is a plus.
