Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Responsible for coordination of the day-to-day functions of the Student Central Office. (Student check-in, triaging next steps like registration, orientation, testing, scheduling, answering the phone, and returning calls).
  • Assist in calling potential and continuing student
  • Provide administrative support to the Department of Student Success in relation to the program goals, objectives, and activities (i.e., student events, campus organizations, etc.).
    Communicates with facilities managers and IT regarding janitorial, maintenance, and technical support.
  • Provide oversight to online appointment scheduling for department staff.
  • Demonstrate a high level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations.
  • Maintain confidentiality of information in compliance with applicable Family
  • Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) of 1974 regulations as amended.
  • Support department in improving efficiency and streamlining workflow.
  • Coordinate with student service and academic offices on correspondence, planning, and customer service issues.
  • Provide administrative support and staff for new and returning student orientation events.
  • Provide outstanding customer services to all internal and external customers.
  • Navigates questions from students and visitors about campus directions, activities, university services/offices, and general university knowledge.
  • Participates in professional development to build continual and professional learning
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Education: 

High School diploma or equivalent.

Required Experience: 

0-3 years of related experience in general office or clerical work required.

Required Skills:

  • Computer Skills: Knowledge of Microsoft Office software (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams, and Word). Ability to learn college-specific software and applications.
  • Reasoning Ability: Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or scheduled form.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to connect and interact with a diverse population both individually and in groups. Able to maintain composure and listen and speak effectively.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with a demonstrated ability to multi-task.
  • Pluralism Skill: Experience working with diverse, underrepresented, and multicultural populations.

Preferred Education: 

Technical Diploma or Associate degree preferred.

Physical Requirements

While performing these duties, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, and talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

Passing a pre-employment criminal background screen is required as a condition of employment.
