Salary: Start of $44,500 annually, with actual offer based on education and experience
Duties and Responsibilities: Plan, organize, and execute a variety of events, including alumni/networking events, fundraising events, donor appreciation events, and other special initiatives for the Foundation and the College.
•Develop and implement strategies to reach, serve, and engage SOWELA Alumni.
•Regularly communicate with alumni through newsletters, social media, and other engagement platforms to keep them informed of Foundation events, programs, and initiatives.
•Create opportunities for alumni to connect with current students, faculty, and staff.
•Work with the Executive Director on donor research, prospecting, and stewardship.
•Research new grant opportunities and prepare draft applications, interim and final projects; report to funding sources on a regular and scheduled basis in collaboration with finance and other departments to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
•Other duties as deemed necessary.
Required Education: Associate degree in communications, public relations, marketing, business or related field.
Required Experience: Minimum of one year experience in development, events, or community outreach.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Excellent written and oral communication skills.
•Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
•Ability to use discretion in working with confidential information.
•Ability to professionally represent the College at all external and internal functions.
•Competency with fundraising and donor relations.
•Proficiency in or ability to become proficient in CRM software (e.g. Raiser’s Edge, Salesforce, Bloomerang).
Proficiency in the use of standard office equipment and networked personal computers.
•
Proficiency in or ability to become proficient in a variety of software, including but not limited to Microsoft Office.
•Ability to perform basic mathematical computations needed to complete job tasks.
•Skilled at planning, organizing, time management, and prioritizing job duties to meet deadlines.
•Maintaining interpersonal professional working relationships at all levels – students, peers, Executives, and Foundation Board members.
Required Licenses or Certifications:
Preferred Education: Bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, marketing or similar.
Preferred Experience: At least three years’ experience in development, events, or community outreach.
