Salary: $2,400 - $2,500 per three credit course (determined by highest degree earned)

 

Duties and Responsibilities: 

• Provides quality and technically relevant instruction, assessment, and feedback in lecture and laboratory in the areas of computer programming, information technology, and computer systems/applications.
• Teaches material from approved curriculum and develops daily lesson plans.
• Prepares or assists in the preparation of materials used in academic administration when requested, including course syllabi, program outlines, and catalog material.
• Ensures course and program learning outcomes are delivered as defined by the course syllabus and program expectations.
• Motivates students to actively participate in all aspects of the educational process.
• Designs assignments and tests to conform to the objectives of the courses in the curriculum.
• Provides clear documentation of student progress, student advising, and support of the academic success for at-risk students.
• Assists with course/program evaluation and continuous improvement.
• Pursues on-going professional development.
• Participates in college and division committee work and activities.
• Participates in student recruiting and retention efforts.
• Ability to relate successfully with students and staff of diverse cultural, social, or educational backgrounds.

 

Required Education: 

• Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field OR a Master’s degree with eighteen (18) graduate hours in Computer Science or related field.

 

Required Experience: 

• Experience with Java, C++, C#, Objective Oriented programming languages.
• Proficiency with database systems, design and SQL.
• Knowledgeable in HTML, CSS, JavaScript

 

Preferred Education: 

• Master’s or doctoral degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

 

Preferred Experience: 

• Three (3) years of recent related industry experience.
• Two years or more teaching at the post-secondary level.
• Experience with online instruction.
• Experience in curriculum development and course assessment.
• Two years’ or more experience in programming languages including Java, Java Script, C++, C#, and other object-oriented programming languages.
• Experience in mobile application development.

 

Passing pre-employment criminal background screen is required as a condition of employment.
