Job Description:
Under general supervision will provide all aspects of secretarial support. Works directly with physicians to ensure smooth division operations.
Minimum Qualifications:
1. High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
2. Experience with medical terminology.
3. Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to compose own correspondence and ability to gain the confidence of others.
4. Excellent interpersonal skills so as to work appropriately with physicians, nurses, administration and ancillary personnel.
5. Mastery of accepted general office practices and knowledge of protocols unique to the division. Ability to perceive and understand broad objectives and to organize time and material toward same. Ability to multitask.
6. Must have advanced knowledge of word processing concepts, spreadsheet programs, and databases (Word, Excel, Power Point, and Access).
7. Must be proficient in medical transcription.
8. Minimum of two year experience in a medical office setting.
Preferred Qualifications:
Ability to prepare research grant applications, abstracts, as well as manuscript preparation and editing.
Advanced knowledge of Outlook and Vision preferred.
Experience working with medical students and residents preferred.
Experience using Epic preferred.
