JOB SUMMARY:

Part-time to Full-time Support of process improvement and Simulation efforts across the Universal Orlando Resort. Determine the most effective ways to best utilize people, machines, materials, information, and energy—to provide a service. Provide individual contribution to problem solving efforts on selected projects to design and program attraction computer Simulations, improve quality, reduce cost and improve cycle time, rework etc. Deliver complete models that can direct project teams through a combination of expertise in data collection, quantitative methods and Simulation.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Reduce labor cost or increase revenue to drive OCF improvements through improving operational efficiency by reducing non-value added tasks and processes. Develop and analyze labor requirements, work force utilization, labor budgets, schedules, and hiring/staffing plans that minimize overall labor costs. Develop, test and implement new products, test price and demand sensitivity, make recommendations and implement change to optimize profitability. Establish baseline historical performance, seasonality, transaction volume, revenue, penetration, per capita, pricing etc. Monitor ongoing performance, establish key performance tracking metrics.
  • Design and Analyze processes and Attractions designs using operations research tools including optimization, simulation modeling, linear programming, etc.
  • Develop and execute data collection studies and obtain data using database query tools in order to perform data mining and data analysis using statistical tools and methodologies.
  • Assist in development of business cases & presentations to be presented from front line stakeholders to executive leadership.
  • Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, statistics, mathematics, or finance required.
  • Master’s degree preferred.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience working in Industrial Engineering, Revenue Management, Finance, Quality Assurance, Engineering or other scientific disciplines;
  • or equivalent combination of education and experience.

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

Six Sigma Green Belt Preferred
