Why Your Role Matters:
The NSW Decarbonisation Hub was established in June 2022. The Hub supports the NSW Government’s goal of net zero emissions by 2050 and a 50% reduction by 2030. The Hub aims to bring together researchers, industry and government stakeholders to collaborate and increase the uptake of new technologies to decarbonise NSW.
About the role:
As Communications & Engagement Officer, you’ll work closely with the Hub’s CEO, Business Manager and Networks to develop and implement engagement and communication strategies (internal and external) to promote the purpose and outcomes of NSW Decarbonisation Innovation Hub and its programs. This includes content development, coordination of events and roadshows, social media and web management, and stakeholder engagement.
The role reports to the CEO and works in close collaboration with the Business Managers and Project Officers to drive engagement aligning to the delivery of the Hub’s strategic objectives. Leveraging positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, across government, industry and academic partners.
This requires travel once a fortnight to Western Sydney University, Hawkesbury Campus. Additional travel is likely required 1-2 times monthly.
Your day to day includes:
- Developing and implementing communication strategies to raise the profile of programs and outcomes of the Hub and its Networks incorporating internal and digital communications, media outreach, social media platform management and stakeholder engagement.
- Leading the development of social media content based on research outcome, industry partnership and research profiles to achieve outcome objectives
- Delivering the Hub monthly Newsletter to strengthen the Hub’s profile and its Network.
- Developing media releases, key messages and briefing notes as required.
- Assisting in the researching, writing, preparation and layout of the Hub Annual Report,
- Supporting the delivery and promotion of all events, funds and campaigns of the Hub, maximising exposure for the Hub and its Networks
(including events, roadshows, webinars and showcases and outreach activities). - Working with CEO, Business Manager and Hub Networks to build and manage the Hub’s CRM platform for managing partner and stakeholders.
- Exploring and developing relationships with Industry, Government, Partner Institutions and Community to forward the Decarbonisation Hub’s reach and engagement.
About you: Confident in delivering communication strategies and building strong relationships across industry, government and academia, you’ll hold a track record of driving engagement outcomes that enhance organisational visibility and influence
You bring the following skills & experience:
- Relevant tertiary qualification with subsequent experience, or equivalent competence gained through any combination of education, training, and experience.
- Proven delivery of marketing strategies that achieve measurable outcomes in support of organisational objectives.
- Demonstrated experience in distilling complex information into straight forward messages for communication to a diverse group of stakeholders in support of strategic goals.
- Proven ability to liaise effectively with all levels of internal and external stakeholders, and exercise creativity and enthusiasm in the development of new initiatives
- Confident in building and managing CRM platforms for stakeholders.
- Excellent time management and organisational skills, with the ability to balance multiple projects of varying importance, scale and stakeholder involvement and meet required deadlines.
- Superior written and verbal communication skills and proficiency in influencing and negotiating to achieve successful outcomes.
- Highly motivated individual with strong skills in science communication and interest in corporate and government relationship is highly desirable
