About UNSW
UNSW isn't like other places you've worked. Yes, we're a large organisation with a diverse and talented community - a community doing extraordinary things. Together, we are driven to be thoughtful, practical and purposeful in all we do. Taking this combined approach is what makes our work matter. If you want a career where you can thrive, be challenged and do meaningful work, you're in the right place.
Why Your Role Matters
Assessment should do more than measure learning - it should help create it. As Senior Education Designer, you will bring specialist expertise in assessment and feedback to UNSW's Curriculum and Educational Design Team, partnering with academics and faculty education teams to shape experiences that are authentic, inclusive and aligned with course and program learning outcomes.
From constructive alignment and feedback literacy to AI in assessment and digital platforms, you will translate contemporary pedagogy into practical solutions. You will support course and program assessment strategies, advise on formative and summative approaches, and help academic teams use digital tools with confidence.
This is a hands-on, university-wide role where ideas move from workshop whiteboard to pilot, evaluation and scale. You will create useful resources, facilitate professional development in face-to-face, hybrid and online settings, contribute to communities of practice, and use evidence, data and sector trends to keep improving practice.
Based in the Pro Vice-Chancellor, Education's Educational Excellence Team, you will work across faculties and central teams to strengthen student learning, engagement and academic integrity. You will join a collaborative team of Educational Designers and report to the Lead, Curriculum and Educational Design.
