Why Your Role Matters:
The Education Support Officer plays a key role within the Technology Enabled Learning Support (TELS) team in the Learning and Teaching Group (LTG) by assisting with the implementation and evaluation of learning, teaching and assessment programs for student coursework in both online and in-person learning environments.

LTG covers a broad range of support from educational development, design, technology, innovation, analytics, development for staff, and learning and wellbeing support for students across the Faculty. The role entails providing exemplary support, enabling the delivery and innovation of education at a Group of Eight (Go8) standard and enhancing student experience at every opportunity. The role will work closely with members of LTG, School Administrators and academic staff to support the design and development of undergraduate and postgraduate awarding programs and courses. The role will support UNSW in current and emerging lifelong learning development and other educational priorities under the University and Faculty strategy.

Working closely with academic and professional staff, you will help support educational programs, learning technologies and curriculum initiatives that enhance student outcomes. The role offers the opportunity to build strong stakeholder relationships, contribute to process improvement projects, and support the adoption of contemporary educational practices and technologies. Whether at Level 5 or Level 6, you will play an important role in supporting teaching excellence while developing your expertise in learning support, educational administration and digital learning environments.

The role reports to the Manager, Education Support, supporting the Head of Student Life and Experience.

Accountabilities:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications and experience, or an equivalent level of knowledge gained through a combination of education, training and/or experience.
  • Provide high level educational administrative support to ensure the seamless delivery of educational programs throughout the year, upholding standards relating to education and student experience.
  • Provide effective specialist advice relating to Learning Management System (LMS) guidelines, processes and activities.
  • Respond to a range of enquiries from teaching staff, and initiate, action or escalate as necessary.
  • Demonstrated experience providing effective customer service and support to clients at all levels.

At a Level 6:

  • Demonstrated experience working with a range of computer systems and applications, including appropriate LMS and other educational technologies.
  • Ability to evaluate learning and teaching trends and priorities, and work collaboratively to deliver enhancements to process, policy or educational outcomes and experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to initiate and implement innovation and enhanced technology into education.
  • Proactively deliver consistent, accurate and customer focused advice to solve diverse teaching/education related enquiries.
  • Support the innovation, implementation and evaluation of learning, teaching and assessment programs.
