  • Remuneration: Level 6/7 $103,866 - $123,302 (depending on experience) + 17% super + leave loading
  • Location: UNSW Kensington Campus, NSW (hybrid)

At UNSW, we believe powerful stories help drive connection, understanding and impact. As the News & Content Coordinator, you will help shape how the Faculty of Medicine & Health shares its achievements, insights and ideas with internal and external audiences.

Working as part of a small but high-performing External Engagement team, you will create compelling content that brings complex research, teaching and community impact to life. Your work will help strengthen UNSW’s reputation, deepen engagement across digital channels and support the Faculty’s broader strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver engaging content across written, video and social media platforms.
  • Contribute ideas and concepts for multimedia content that captures attention and drives audience engagement.
  • Draft, edit and refine content that is accurate, consistent and aligned with UNSW brand and style guidelines.
  • Translate complex information into clear, compelling stories for diverse audiences.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across the Faculty and University to plan and deliver content for digital channels.
  • Support the planning and execution of photo and video shoots, including using low-fi production tools when required.
  • Monitor content performance and use insights, analytics and SEO best practice to improve reach and effectiveness.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to media enquiries.
  • Stay across trends in digital content, audience behaviour and media to ensure content remains fresh, relevant and impactful.

Who You Are

You are a creative and proactive communications professional who knows how to turn ideas into engaging, high-impact content. You bring strong writing skills, sound judgement and attention to detail, along with the ability to build effective relationships and manage competing priorities.

You will also bring:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent experience.
  • Experience creating content across digital platforms, including video and social media.
  • Knowledge of digital content best practice, including analytics and SEO.
  • Experience supporting communications or media strategies.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience engaging with stakeholders and external media.
  • Experience managing social media channels and measuring performance.
  • Initiative, creativity and the ability to develop fresh content ideas.
  • Advanced computer literacy, including Microsoft Office.
