Why Your Role Matters:
The Senior Functional Business Analyst, People & Culture Systems is a senior specialist responsible for partnering with People & Culture, UNSW IT and external vendors to deliver functional HR technology solutions that support the University's people strategy.
As the functional subject matter expert for PeopleSoft Human Capital Management (HCM), you will lead the analysis, configuration and enhancement of People & Culture systems. With a strong focus on PeopleSoft Time & Labour Rules Writer and Global Payroll, you'll help deliver system improvements, support legislative and enterprise agreement compliance, and contribute to strategic HR technology initiatives that enhance the employee experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the delivery of innovative People & Culture technology solutions by partnering with People & Culture, Payroll, Digital Technology, business stakeholders and vendors to shape and implement scalable, user-centred solutions across PeopleSoft HCM, Time & Labour, Global Payroll.
- Drive business analysis and continuous improvement by leading discovery, business process analysis, solution design and requirements definition, while identifying opportunities to enhance employee experience and operational performance by simplifying processes and leveraging automation and AI-enabled technologies.
- Champion solution delivery and business readiness by facilitating workshops, leading business process mapping, impact assessments, functional design, testing, business readiness and implementation activities to ensure high-quality, sustainable outcomes.
- Provide strategic functional leadership by ensuring People & Culture systems remain secure, compliant and aligned with legislative, industrial, governance and University requirements, while evaluating emerging technologies and digital innovations that strengthen HR capability and service delivery.
- Leverage data and insights to enable better decision-making by analysing complex business challenges, identifying opportunities for optimisation and supporting evidence-based improvements across People & Culture systems, services and operations.
Who You Are:
You are an experienced HRIS functional specialist with strong business analysis skills and expertise in PeopleSoft HCM, Time and Labour, Global Payroll modules. You are self-driven and enjoy partnering with stakeholders to improve business processes, solve complex system challenges and deliver practical technology solutions in a large, complex organisation.
You will bring:
- Extensive experience supporting PeopleSoft Human Capital Management (HCM).
- Demonstrated expertise in PeopleSoft Time & Labour Rules and Global Payroll.
- Experience as a Functional Business Analyst, HRIS Consultant or HR Systems Specialist.
- Strong business analysis, requirements gathering and functional solution design skills.
- Experience with HRIS configuration, security and workflow administration.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Experience with HRIS upgrades, testing and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
