The Future You program aims to shift perceptions about who belongs in STEM education and careers among all students aged 8 – 12 years, their teachers, and their parents and carers via two core objectives: 1) Inspire girls and children from other underrepresented backgrounds and identities to pursue STEM careers by challenging stereotypes and communicating that STEM is for everyone; and 2) Raise awareness of the range of exciting STEM skilled career opportunities available by providing real life examples of people working in STEM careers, and showing the different career pathways students can take.

About the role
The Senior Program Coordinator plays a key role within the Future You program, delivering high-quality project support to strengthen engagement with families and communities. This position combines project management, communications, and stakeholder engagement to help expand the program’s reach and impact.
You will lead the design and delivery of audience engagement strategies, working collaboratively across the team to connect Future You with family and community audiences in meaningful ways.
The Future You team works flexibly, including the option for flexible hours. This role can be performed remotely from anywhere in Australia or be based in Sydney with on-campus and work-from-home options.
Key Responsibilities

Lead projects that expand the reach of the Future You program to family and community audiences

Develop and implement project plans, including events, activities, and resources

Develop engaging online resources and material for parents

Monitor, track, and report on project progress, ensuring delivery aligns with time, cost, and quality expectations

Provide proactive project support to team members and stakeholders

Identify, assess, and manage risks, offering practical solutions where needed

Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders

Coordinate adherence to governance processes to ensure projects follow established frameworks

Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of educational resources

Monitor content and engagement metrics, using insights to enhance performance

Identify opportunities to promote and grow the program’s reach

Support and attend outreach and engagement events, including interstate travel as required

Undertake additional tasks as needed to support program delivery
About you
You are passionate about equity, diversity and inclusion, and aligned with the values of the Future You program. You enjoy engaging with people, understanding diverse audiences, and identifying the most effective ways to reach them. You bring:

Experience developing audience engagement strategies, including events or promotional activities in a public-facing environment

Experience working on similar programs or initiatives is highly regarded

Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with a high attention to detail

A collaborative approach, with the ability to work effectively across teams and stakeholder groups

Solid project management experience, including planning, documentation, and lifecycle delivery

Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities

Confidence using a range of digital tools, including the Microsoft Office suite

The ability to work both independently and as part of a team, using initiative and sound judgement

A background in STEM (preferred, but not required)
The successful candidate will need a Full Drivers Licence (no vehicle required) and a valid WWCC. The role is funded until December 2027. Candidates will be open to occasional travel (mostly on weekends) to deliver events.
We are open for candidates being based across Australia (not necessarily Sydney) - but you will need full Australian working rights (no sponsorship or overseas work).
