Position Summary:
The Practice Manager leads the overall operation and strategic development of the UNSW Lifestyle Clinic, a multidisciplinary facility delivering lifestyle assessment, prevention, and rehabilitation services. The role is responsible for overseeing day-to-day clinic operations, including clinical service delivery, billing, administration, and compliance with relevant funding bodies and regulatory requirements.
Working closely with the Head of School and key stakeholders, the position drives the growth and expansion of the Clinic by identifying and implementing new service opportunities, particularly in chronic disease management and preventative health. The Practice Manager also leads and develops a diverse team of clinicians and administrative staff, ensuring high-quality service delivery, effective workflows, and a strong focus on patient care and experience.
In addition, the role supports the Clinic’s function as a teaching and research environment, contributing to student learning and ensuring alignment with the broader objectives of UNSW Medicine & Health.
Skills & Experience
- Relevant tertiary qualification with subsequent relevant experience or equivalent competence gained through any combination of education, training and experience in physiotherapy, dietetics or exercise physiology. Please note: Accreditation with the relevant professional body is essential.
- Excellent time management and organisational skills, and the ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple tasks with competing deadlines.
- Demonstrated ability to supervise, influence and guide staff.
- Highly advanced interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.
- Demonstrated experience providing effective customer service and support to clients at all levels.
- Highly proficient computer literacy with excellent skills in Microsoft Office and clinical software applications.
- Ability to plan, organise and co-ordinate projects and tasks.
- Excellent numeracy skills with the ability to understand and communicate financial information and monitor budgets.
- An understanding of and commitment to UNSW’s aims, objectives and values in action, together with relevant policies and guidelines.
- Knowledge of health and safety responsibilities and commitment to attending relevant health and safety training.
