Why Your Role Matters:
The School of Information Systems & Technology Management (ISTM) at UNSW Business School is seeking a Post Doctoral Fellow to join our vibrant academic community.
As a Postdoctoral Fellow, you will contribute to the UNSW PRAxIS Lab, delivering practice-oriented research that creates meaningful real-world impact. The Lab focuses on developing and implementing research-driven solutions to address organisational and societal challenges, with a strong emphasis on the effective and responsible use of AI.
This role offers an excellent opportunity for a researcher with strong methodological expertise to expand their impact by working at the intersection of research and practice. You will build skills in designing research that is both academically rigorous and directly relevant to real-world settings, while producing strong scholarly outcomes. Working closely with academic colleagues, industry partners, and end users, you will help design, evaluate, and implement research solutions that make a meaningful difference.
Reporting to Associate Professor Yenni Tim, the primary responsibilities of this Postdoctoral Fellow position include leading research projects on responsible AI in business and healthcare, conducting data collection and analysis, overseeing project-related activities, liaising and collaborating with external research partners and sponsors, managing study budgets and timelines, monitoring and reporting progress to relevant stakeholders, and preparing outputs for both academic and practitioner audiences.
Responsibilities:
- Lead data collection and analysis activities with a high level of methodological rigour.
- Conduct independent and collaborative research contributing to high-quality scholarly outputs.
- Support the design and delivery of applied research projects, particularly in AI implementation.
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and reporting requirements.
- Liaise and collaborate with external stakeholders, including industry partners and sponsors.
- Prepare reports and research outputs for both academic and practitioner audiences.
- Contribute to conferences, workshops, and dissemination activities.
- Ensure compliance with ethical research standards, data security, and UNSW policies.
Who You Are:
You are a motivated early career researcher with a passion for applied, impact-driven research. You bring:
- A PhD in Information Systems, Management, Implementation Science, or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated expertise in qualitative research methodologies, including interviews, focus groups, and qualitative data analysis; experience in intervention-based research is highly desirable, and expertise in quantitative, design, and computational methods is also advantageous.
- A developing track record of high-quality publications and conference presentations, relative to opportunity.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively across disciplines.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with experience engaging external stakeholders.
- A commitment to continuous learning and staying current in your field.
