Why your role matters
The Senior Executive Officer role sits within the Marketing & Digital Experience (M&DX) at UNSW. This portfolio drives UNSW’s global brand, reputation and distinctiveness, supporting the University’s ‘Progress for All’ strategy.
As Senior Executive Officer, your primary focus will be to lead the Executive Office by providing high-level strategic and operational support to the Executive Director, Marketing & Digital Experience, and key stakeholders across the portfolio. You will:
- Provide advice on strategy, operations and performance
- Drive alignment across competing priorities and stakeholders, connecting strategy to delivery
- Lead and deliver key projects end-to-end, ensuring strong stakeholder engagement, timely delivery and effective governance
- Coordinate executive reporting, briefing materials and portfolio communications
- Support governance rhythms, including leadership meetings, decision-making processes and follow-through on actions
About You
You are a sharp, organised operator who works effectively in a fast-paced environment, managing shifting priorities and multiple deliverables with pace and precision.
You bring experience delivering initiatives from planning through to execution, supported by strong commercial awareness and disciplined project management. You are comfortable working across strategy, stakeholder coordination and delivery; ensuring work is aligned, progressed and completed to a high standard.
You communicate clearly and build effective working relationships with stakeholders at all levels. Your writing is concise and purposeful, and your attention to detail is consistently high.
You operate as an extension of the Executive Director; anticipating needs, staying across moving parts, and ensuring priorities are executed effectively.
To apply, you will have:
- Relevant tertiary qualification, or equivalent experience gained through a combination of education, training and practice
- Demonstrated experience in implementation, resource planning, goal setting and project management
- Proven ability to design and deliver strategies, programs and initiatives within complex, matrixed environments
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality outcomes to deadline
- Experience coordinating and supporting others to deliver work, including setting priorities and maintaining momentum
- Well-developed stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to consult, influence and communicate effectively at senior levels
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Advanced computer literacy across a range of systems and applications
While marketing experience would be highly regarded it is not essential.
