  • Remuneration: Level 6/7 $103,866 - $123,302 (depending on experience) + 17% super + leave loading

The Division of Societal Impact, Equity and Engagement (SIEE) supports a diverse and inclusive UNSW community and works with partners and society to drive positive change.

As Social Media Coordinator, you will support the Social Media Manager and Director of Marketing & Content to deliver engaging and effective social media communications for the University. You will help manage UNSW’s corporate social media presence, ensuring content is timely, creative and aligned with the University’s voice.

Working closely with teams across the University, you will create and coordinate content, engage with online communities and provide guidance to stakeholders on best-practice social media communications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and manage UNSW’s corporate social media channels and communities.
  • Develop and maintain a fast-paced social media content calendar across platforms including TikTok, Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, Threads and Reddit.
  • Create engaging written, visual and short-form video content in collaboration with Marketing & Content teams.
  • Monitor social media conversations, identify opportunities and escalate potential risks where required.
  • Provide advice to stakeholders on social media strategy, community management and reporting.
  • Analyse social media performance and use insights to optimise content and engagement.
  • Support academics and teams across the University to build their social media presence.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to deliver best-practice digital communications aligned with UNSW priorities.
  • Ability to manage and mentor student creators to help support content creation.

Who You Are:

  • You are a social media specialist with experience managing and delivering content across platforms such as TikTok, Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, Threads and Reddit.
  • You have strong content creation and copywriting skills, with excellent editorial judgement.
  • You understand social media trends, audience behaviour and analytics, and can translate insights into engaging content.
  • You have experience using social media management and reporting tools (e.g. Sprout Social) and creative tools such as Canva, Photoshop and/or CapCut.
  • You are organised, proactive and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment.
  • You work collaboratively with stakeholders and are comfortable providing advice on social media best practice.
  • You are flexible and willing to occasionally work outside standard hours as part of a social media on-call roster.
