Join the Education Design & Quality team in the Faculty of Law & Justice as an Educational Developer in this brand-new role and play a key part in implementing the Flex-semester calendar. You will collaborate with academic and professional staff to design and evaluate high-quality courses, bringing expertise in technology-enhanced learning to create engaging, flexible learning experiences.
Working collaboratively with academic and professional staff, the role provides practical pedagogical and technical expertise and support that enhance high-quality course delivery and the student learning experience. The position supports Faculty- and University-wide education initiatives related to the implementation of the Flex-semester academic calendar and technology-enhanced learning practices.
The role of Educational Developer reports to Education Design & Quality (EDQ) Manager and has no direct reports.
Accountabilities
Accountabilities for the role include:

Provide pedagogical and technical expertise to support the design and delivery of educational projects and courses aligned with strategic objectives, including guidance to academic staff on teaching practices, University policies, and the implementation of the Flex-semester academic calendar and technology-enhanced learning.

Drive the adoption and effective use of educational technologies across programs and courses, including generative AI.

Design, deliver and evaluate academic development activities and resources that build teaching capability.

Work collaboratively within the EDQ team and collaborate with other teams, Faculties and Division units to identify, develop, and deliver education support initiatives.

Perform other duties as required by the EDQ manager and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement within the work unit.
Skills & Experience

A Bachelor’s or postgraduate qualification with relevant working experience.

Demonstrated pedagogical and technical expertise in supporting the design and delivery of educational projects and courses aligned with strategic objectives in higher education.

Demonstrated experience in driving the adoption of the effective use of educational technologies in teaching and learning.
-
Strong communication, project management and organisational skills.
-
Understanding of and commitment to University values, policies, and quality assurance processes.

Knowledge of health & safety (psychosocial and physical) responsibilities and commitment to attending relevant health and safety training.
