Partnering with Australian universities, the Australian Research Data Commons (ARDC) is a transformational initiative that is enabling the Australian research community and industry access to nationally significant, leading-edge infrastructure, platforms, skills and collections of high-quality data.
The ARDC has extensive experience in co-designing and delivering national digital research infrastructure programs, and the UNSW based Project Managers are part of the Program Design and Delivery team, supporting the ARDC’s strategic objectives in optimising and expanding the capability of delivering the thematic research data commons across HASS and Indigenous, People, and Planet Research.
Primarily focused on the People Research Data Commons (health and medical research infrastructure), you will apply your expertise to support the delivery of multiple large, national research data projects within ARDC’s Data Commons programs. Working closely with Program Managers, the Project Management office (PMO), and a range of partners, you will be responsible for planning, delivering, and monitoring projects, including scoping, budgeting, progress reporting, and resolving challenges.

Who You Are:
You have demonstrated experience in project management, including project scoping and development, monitoring budgets, reporting on project progress and identifing project challenges to identify and apply solutions. The role requires strong understanding of data‑sharing practices that support secondary data use (including FAIR principles) and familiarity of the challenges involved in developing and operating research infrastructure, particularly in relation to health and/or medical research data.
You have a solid understanding of the project lifecycle, complemented by well-developed relationship management, consulting, and communication skills. Your ability to think analytically and strategically enables you to navigate complex, dynamic environments and manage competing priorities effectively. You are experienced in working with distributed teams and collaborators, and can demonstrate your commitment to UNSW’s values, policies, and health and safety responsibilities.
Experience in the medical or health data field is highly desirable.
