Why Your Role Matters:
As the Payroll Project Administrator, you play a key role in supporting payroll compliance project deliverables and ensuring processes align with regulatory and internal policy requirements. Reporting to the Payroll Project Team Leader, you contribute to audits, data accuracy, and issue resolution, helping maintain payroll integrity and sustainable pay confidence across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Undertake pre- and post-payroll audits, documenting findings and escalating issues as required.
- Identify payroll discrepancies and perform standard calculations to support remediation.
- Apply relevant legislation, Enterprise Agreements, and policies accurately.
- Maintain accurate and timely employee data in line with approved standards.
- Respond to payroll enquiries, resolving standard matters and escalating complex issues.
- Contribute to system and process improvements, including participating in testing activities.
- Support cross-functional compliance activities and assist the Payroll Compliance team as needed.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of payroll regulations and tax obligations.
Who You Are:
You are a detail-oriented payroll professional with comprehensive knowledge of Australian payroll legislation and a strong focus on compliance and accuracy. You communicate clearly and provide excellent customer service to stakeholders at all levels.
You bring:
- Experience in payroll administration within environments governed by complex Enterprise Agreements.
- Ability to analyse payroll data to identify discrepancies, perform reconciliations, and validate calculation.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and advance Excel skills.
- Proficiency in PeopleSoft or Oracle Payroll/HRIS desirable.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills.
- High attention to detail in a fast-paced setting.
- The ability to manage sensitive information with discretion.
