The Senior Application Analyst will be responsible for ensuring the architecture application practice activities and functions within UNSW IT, is aligned and centred around the Enterprise Architecture Tool, Lean IX, including embedding architecture governance administration with LeanIX. The Senior Application Analyst will report into the Enterprise Architect for Governance & Practice. 
 
Specific accountabilities for this role include:
• Lead the adoption of the LeanIX EA Tool strategy and its alignment with enterprise architecture (EA) and business objectives 
• Certify that the LeanIX tool supports and maintains transformation and investment portfolio initiatives 
• Drive the strategic alignment of LeanIX, objectives across the CIO office, IT strategy, and business leadership across UNSW 
• Establish and govern a data-driven decision-making culture using LeanIX insights for IT and business alignment 
• Develop and implement LeanIX EA Tool governance policies to ensure data integrity, access control, and compliance with the Architectural Review Board 
• Oversee the operation of Lean IX / ARB Governance processes and administration
• Provide strategic oversight and governance of LeanIX utilisation, ensuring data integrity across the system landscape, applications, and integrations 
• Act as the primary LeanIX liaison between business stakeholders and the EA team, ensuring clear communication 
• Conduct regular stakeholder meetings and workshops to gather requirements, present new and changed architectural processes, and obtain feedback 
• Foster strong relationships and collaboration across teams and departments to ensure the successful implementation 
• Influence and encourage stakeholder adoption of LeanIX through training and awareness campaigns 
• Design and drive enterprise-level change management strategies to optimize LeanIX adoption and realise maximum business value 
• Ensure continuous education on LeanIX best practices for IT and stakeholder business users 
• Drive a culture of continuous improvement for LeanIX and architecture practice management 
• Develop and define KPIs and success metrics for LeanIX effectiveness 
• Oversee and implement the review of architecture roadmaps, IT portfolio health, and technology risk assessments 
• Ensure real-time monitoring of technology landscapes is maintained using LeanIX insights 
• Develop and provide executive reports using LeanIX capability and customised reporting where required 
• Supports the development of business and technology program and projects 
• Acts as the liaison between IT and business leadership regarding enterprise architecture and driving alignment at the CIO and senior leadership levels by influencing in shaping decisions beyond the immediate work unit, especially in governance and compliance. 
• High level of degree of autonomy and accountability, directly guiding the tool’s administration. 
• Uses Enterprise Architecture disciplines to create data sets that translate enterprise and organisational complexity, into clear, shared evidence that supports and enables change conversations. 
• Links business, technology strategies and abstract concepts into insights and executable outcomes for senior stakeholders’ decision making. 
• Align with and actively demonstrate the Code of Conduct and Values 
• Ensure hazards and risks psychosocial and physical are identified and controlled for tasks, projects, and activities that pose a health and safety risk within your area of responsibility. 
 
Who you are:
  • Relevant tertiary qualification with subsequent relevant experience or equivalent competence gained through any combination of education, training and experience
  • Demonstrated senior-level expertise in the build, configuration, and ongoing management of SAP LeanIX, supported by formal training and certification, and underpinned by a strong background in enterprise technology roles
  • Experience in designing, implementing and maintaining enterprise frameworks and operating processes
  • Strong expertise of managing business applications processes, information systems, and technology infrastructure
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a high performing team
  • Experienced background in the functions and responsibilities of solution and enterprise architecture disciplines to reinforce enterprise principles, align to target and transition states, and maintain long-term architectural coherence.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think strategically and analytically
  • Proficiency or understanding in enterprise architecture tools and frameworks (e.g., TOGAF, Zachman Framework) is desired
  • An understanding of and commitment to UNSW’s aims, objectives and values in action, together with relevant policies and guidelines
