- Remuneration: $127k - $150k base prorated (+17% super, clinical loading, leave loading)
- Work rights: Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. Candidates must hold full rights to work in Australia to be considered for this position.
- Locations: One position will be based at the Health Translation Hub in Randwick campus, and the other position will be based at Liverpool hospital, South West Sydney campus. However, there is a requirement for the positions to travel between metro campuses at times to assist with major simulation days and other teaching activities.
UNSW School of Clinical Medicine
The School of Clinical Medicine encompasses all our clinical campuses and disciplines as well as several other affiliated clinical sites. We have four main metropolitan clinical campuses which include our South West Sydney Campus, St George and Sutherland Campuses, the Randwick Campus and St Vincent's Healthcare Campus. Our Rural Campuses include Port Macquarie, Coffs Harbour, Wagga Wagga, Albury and Griffith.
The Opportunity
This opportunity will contribute to the coordination and practical delivery of clinical skills training and simulation activities within high-and low fidelity learning environments, in line with the teaching requirements and guidelines of the Medicine program. This role will accelerate the development and implementation of educational innovations as part of the clinical teaching staff in the School of Clinical Medicine. The position reports to the Director of Simulation, School of Clinical Medicine, with a dotted line to local teaching leadership and has no direct reports.
Some key skills and experience required:
- Hold current registration with AHPRA as a medical practitioner AND hold a Fellowship of an Australasian Specialist Medical College or be expected to be granted Fellowship in the next 3-6 months
- Maintenance of professional development in medical education, simulation-based education and pedagogy
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in practical teaching and learning design, development and delivery at undergraduate level.
- High level of experience in the development and delivery of skills teaching and simulated learning in healthcare settings.
- Demonstrated knowledge of and experience in simulation and scenario-based learning equipment, software and task trainers, simulated patients, and clinical skills training methods in health education.
- Experience using and/or designing with educational technologies and simulation delivery methods.
- Evidence of teaching effectiveness and passion for educational excellence (e.g. relevant discipline-based curriculum design and development at a variety of levels and scales).
