  • Employment Type: Continuing Full - time (35 hours a week)
  • Remuneration: $127,351 base, plus 17% superannuation and leave loading

Details of the role

The Senior Analyst – Customer & Market Insights is a key role responsible for delivering contextually relevant, timely and action-oriented audience and customer insights to inform learner recruitment and retention strategies, product portfolio development, brand and reputation improvements, and digital experience outcomes. By translating complex research and market signals into clear recommendations, the role enables evidence-based decisions that improve customer outcomes and strengthen UNSW’s position in a competitive environment.

The role leads research and analysis to track higher education and broader macro market trends, and to unpack audience needs, pain points and barriers to engagement and action. This includes interpreting market data, designing and delivering voice-of-customer surveys, and conducting secondary research to inform market research and product development.

The Senior Analyst works closely with internal stakeholders to shape briefs, provide hands-on advice on research and project design, and communicate findings. The role reports to the Customer Analytics and Insights Manager and has no direct reports.

Some key skills required:

  • Tertiary degree in a related area, plus relevant experience in market research (5-8 years +), data processing and analysis and insight generation ideally gained in a market research agency.
  • Collaborate with Marketing and Digital Experience Stakeholders and Specialists to ensure feasibility and alignment with Lead management systems to guarantee the successful implementation of insights projects and build an extensive audience knowledge
  • Conduct primary research (qualitative and quantitative) and secondary research to provide robust and validated insights for identifying opportunities and threats that inform decision making and future strategy:
    • Conduct in-house data collection, data analysis and executive reporting to leverage[SM1]  recruitment strategy and operations
    • End-to-end research project management with external agencies to provide guidance on UNSW Brand Strategy and to build business cases for Academic Program Development
    • Work with multiple, structured and unstructured data sources, to deliver robust marketing intelligence that serves UNSW brand and reputation, portfolio competitiveness, digital experience outcomes and multi-campus development
  • Deliver reporting results and analysis; deliver enablement to stakeholders so insights contribute to define and support the Marketing & Digital Experience (M&DX) Annual Operating Plan.
  • Manage persona governance to standardise the use of validated personas for all marketing and recruitment activities.
