Why Your Role Matters 

The Diversity & Inclusion Officer supports UNSW’s efforts to advance equity, inclusion and social impact across the University. Working within the Division of Societal Impact, Equity & Engagement (DSIEE), you’ll help deliver initiatives spanning gender equity, accessibility, LGBTQIA+ inclusion, cultural diversity, anti-racism and workplace culture. 

This role reports to the Manager, Diversity & Inclusion and has no direct reports. 

Main responsibilities include: 
• Coordinating engagement activities, events and campaigns for students and staff 
• Creating and supporting content that amplifies Diversity & Inclusion initiatives and achievements 
• Supporting the planning and delivery of D&I programs, including stakeholder engagement and event logistics 
• Assisting with the review and update of training materials and communication resources 

Who You Are 

You are a strong communicator, energised by working across multiple stakeholders, with a passion for inclusive culture and creating safe environments for staff and students. You bring: 
• Previous experience in communications and engagement 
• Experience supporting events, campaigns or outreach programs 
• Experience in the Diversity, Inclusion and Equity space is highly regarded — passion for the area is essential 
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with sensitivity to tone and audience 
• Experience in digital content creation and engagement activities 
• Strong time management skills and the ability to juggle competing priorities 

Candidates will need to have valid working rights – this role is not available for sponsorship.  

This is a fixed term contract (leave cover) until February 2027. The role is hybrid – Monday to Friday.
