Why Your Role Matters:
The Senior Health & Safety Advisor Estates & Contractors delivers and facilitates high-level frontline Health & Safety products and services across Estates & Contractors, ensuring visibility and availability of Advisors and responding dynamically to changing business needs.
The role plans operational activities and resource provision and supports both BAU reactive work and planned risk management activities, ensuring a tailored, consistent stakeholder experience and high-quality Health & Safety customer support across the Estates & Contractors portfolio. Working closely with the Head of Health & Safety Estates & Contractors and H&S Partners, the role ensures that front line services are delivered as required across key risk portfolios, including hazard & incident support, risk assessments, assurance activities (inspections, audits, control verification), consultation, coaching, training, and expert technical advice.
The position liaises with the H&S Performance and Improvement team to ensure Advisors lead and participate in transformational projects and initiatives, and ensures appropriate provision of analytics and reporting that improves risk visibility and enables good decision making.
The Senior Advisor ensures that Advisors provide expert advice and support across the portfolio to enable leaders to meet their H&S accountabilities and guarantees robust support enabling the achievement of safe and sustainable outcomes. Functioning as a key service delivery leader, the role enables delivery of integrated, best-in-class health and safety solutions
Who You Are:
- Extensive experience as a senior Health & Safety Advisor or Partners in in multisite operations, facilities/estates or contractor heavy environments.
- Relevant tertiary qualification with significant and sustained relevant experience or equivalent competence gained through any combination of education, training and experience.
- Proven capability in front-line H&S Advisor service provision including complex risk assessment methodology, incident management and investigation, assurance activities, consultation, and the design and implementation of risk mitigation solutions.
- Strong stakeholder engagement, communication, and coaching skills, with a track record of building strategic relationships and influencing at all levels.
- Advanced expertise in contractor management and oversight of high-risk work in an estates and contractor management context.
- Track record of continuous improvement and service delivery, with demonstrated success achieving safe outcomes on initiatives through a collaborative approach.
- Ability to act as technical expert for the design and delivery of training programs relating to health and safety. Data literacy, quality control understanding, and ability to interpret insights to drive improvements.
- Ability to support front-line leadership in planning for and responding to physical and psychological health risks including facilitation of cross functional case management response relating to injuries.
- Knowledge of workers compensation and injury management to enable front-line triage and response for potential psychological injury.
- Knowledge of psychosocial risk and integration of Health & Wellbeing considerations into operational practice.
- Advanced written and verbal communication skills, with a high level of attention to detail for deliverables produced.
