Why your role matters
Supporting the Head of Greater China Strategic Industry Partnerships, you will help develop and maintain strong external relationships with key industry sectors and government stakeholders. You will also leverage effective internal relationships across the University to contribute to the achievement of revenue targets, oversee both new and existing research projects to ensure timely delivery of milestones and outputs, and manage associated partner relationships.
Proficiency in Chinese language and interpreting is essential and mandatory for this role.

Who you are
You have a relevant tertiary qualification and can demonstrate the following key skills and experience:
- Developing industry relationships and supporting research commercialisation, including familiarity with UNSW’s research capabilities. Experience in health and biotechnology research and commercialisation is highly desirable.
- Knowledge and experience of the research landscape within the higher education sector and/or the industry R&D environment across Australasia
- Preparing business cases and proposals for industry, government, and external end-user partners.
- Reviewing, drafting, and negotiating agreements for contract research and consulting projects, including scoping and pricing
- Interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal), with the proven ability to build and maintain effective collaborative professional relationships
- Project management experience within a major research, industry, or government portfolio, including a strong record of delivering large-scale industry projects successfully.
- Negotiation, consultation, and research management skills, with the ability to exercise initiative, tact, and discretion when handling highly sensitive and confidential matters.
- Deliver training and capability-building initiatives to research and/or academic communities.
- High-level organisational skills, ability to prioritise workload
- Chinese language proficiency and interpreting skills
- Understanding of, and commitment to, UNSW’s aims, values, and guiding policies.
- Knowledge of health and safety responsibilities
