As the service owner of Leganto, the Unit manages course resources, copyright, and data quality. The Senior Team Member, Electronic Resources, focuses on maximising the value of library resources by resolving complex issues and driving process improvements that enhance data quality and resource accessibility.

Reporting to the Manager, Electronic Resources and Data Quality (or Manager, Electronic Resources & Access), the role involves developing and maintaining accurate records for electronic titles and datasets, managing data integration from multiple sources, and ensuring compliance with library policies and copyright legislation. The position also includes generating reports, leading team activities, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives, and supporting the Library’s strategic planning through expertise and collaboration across working groups.

The role works at the UNSW Sydney Main Library. The role operates Monday to Friday.

Who You Are:

The ideal candidate will have skills and experience as follows:

  • Degree from a higher education institution or equivalent level of knowledge gained through any other combination of education, training and/or experience.
  • Demonstrated experience and skill in electronic resources manage, cataloguing, application of metadata in an academic library or equivalent environment.
  • Proven accuracy and attention to detail. Ability to analyse management information and data and provide advice based on the analysis.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply complex procedures to a range of online tools and to solve complex problems independently and to support and leading team members.
  • Sound interpersonal and negotiating skills and ability to write clear technical reports regarding online systems.
  • Ability to organise own work within a team environment, establish priorities and meet deadlines and goals.
  • Demonstrated understanding of how to ethically and effectively leverage AI tools to diagnose complex issues, improve efficiency, and contribute to innovative solutions.

Within your application, you should include a cover letter addressing the following role priorities:

  • Describe a time you were faced with a complex, ambiguous problem concerning descriptive records, data access, or system configuration within a library or university environment. What steps did you take to resolve the issue, and what was the outcome?
  • Describe a time you led staff or contributed to a group implementing a significant process improvement or strategic plan. What was your role in leading and engaging staff and monitoring output? What measurable impact did this contribution have on Unit efficiency or service delivery?
  • How do you ensure the accuracy of the underlying data, and specifically, how do you translate the findings of these reports into actionable steps for process improvement?

How to Apply:

Please submit your CV and a Cover Letter (two pages maximum) addressing the role priorities (as above).
