The Future Students Officer (Transnational Education and Study Abroad) supports UNSW’s global engagement and student mobility goals by recruiting and converting inbound study abroad students and promoting the University’s expanding transnational education programs. The role manages relationships with international partners and education providers, delivers high-quality enquiry support, and coordinates targeted recruitment and marketing activities. Through presentations, events, and digital engagement, it increases awareness of UNSW’s offerings and ensures a smooth experience for prospective students.

A key focus of the role is building strong partnerships across TNE and study abroad networks, as well as engaging agents, schools, sponsors, and industry partners to grow a diverse student pipeline. Working with teams across Marketing & Digital Experience, Admissions, and Student Life, the role contributes to innovative recruitment campaigns and conversion strategies, requiring a proactive, data-informed and solutions-oriented approach.

The position reports to the International Recruitment Channel Lead and has no direct reports.

Specific accountabilities for this role include:  

  • Design and execute sales and conversion initiatives that align with the UNSW Marketing & Digital Experience strategy to support achievement of regional and channel commencement targets at both a pan-UNSW and faculty level alongside driving market share improvement.
  • Drive best-practice sales operations by supporting the design and delivery of marketing and recruitment initiatives for transnational education and study abroad markets, with a focus on enrolment quality, growth and diversity, strong enquiry and customer service management, effective collaboration with regional teams and sponsors, and improved return on investment across engagement activities.
  • Effectively utilise and leverage the UNSW CRM, ensuring that future student information and key data is entered, stored and effectively used to maximise recruitment, conversion and enrolments across programs.

About You:  

  • A relevant tertiary education with strong experience in sales, product management or marketing or an equivalent level of industry knowledge gained through any other combination of education, training and experience.
  • Strong commercial acumen and achievement orientation in a KPI driven sales/marketing context. An ability to set targets, plan work with competing priorities and review return on investment.
  • Demonstrated ability to balance strategic outcomes with pragmatic short-term requirements to deliver successful outcomes with momentum.
  • Excellent collaboration skills and experience working in a complex matrix organisational environment.
  • Excellent relationship management skills, with a demonstrated track record of fostering and maintaining strong and successful internal and external networks, supporting successful outcomes.
  • Strong experience of implementing conversion and retention strategies through a CRM and lead management automation tools.
  • Highly developed organisational and time management skills, with proven attention to accuracy and detail.
  • Ability to apply judgement, creativity, and flexibility to generate new and innovative ideas and approaches and to solve complex problems.
  • Higher Education experience across local and international markets is highly desirable.
  • An understanding of and commitment to UNSW’s aims, objectives and values in action, together with relevant policies and guidelines.
