Why Your Role Matters
The Senior Student Experience Officer plays a vital role in strengthening collaboration between educational teams, student services, student success and faculties across UNSW. This position coordinates stakeholder engagement, improves communication, and ensures responsive service delivery aligned with academic and institutional priorities related to the student experience.
Working with a high level of autonomy, the Senior Student Experience Officer leads strategic engagement with faculties, applying sound judgement to support and influence service delivery models and strengthen academic partnerships. The role drives continuous improvement, enhances service efficiency, and ensures student services are visible, valued, and responsive to faculty needs. This position reports to the Student Experience Business Partner, supporting education and student services within the Division of Education and Student Experience.
Main Responsibilities Summary

Act as the key liaison for assigned faculties and schools, coordinating student experience initiatives involving PVCE, PVCSS, and RaSS

Build strong relationships with academic and professional staff to align service priorities and foster collaboration

Facilitate discussions and working groups to ensure student services align with faculty goals

Identify and resolve complex service challenges, developing innovative solutions that enhance the student experience

Lead strategic projects and pilots, managing planning, engagement, and evaluation

Provide strategic advice and reporting to senior leaders, supporting policy and service development

Monitor stakeholder requests and outcomes to ensure timely resolution and clear communication

Promote the value of student services and drive continuous improvement in engagement practices
Who You Are
We are looking for someone who is collaborative, customer-centric, aligned with UNSW’s vision and values, bringing:

Demonstrated experience in stakeholder engagement, coordination and service improvement initiatives

Knowledge in Higher Education operations with hands-on experience in student or academic services (essential)

Experience working with and influencing senior stakeholders
-
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to tailor messaging to diverse audiences
-
Experience contributing to policy or service design – particularly in a distributed and matrixed service model

Proven ability to manage and lead multiple priorities and complex projects or initiatives with attention to detail and strategic alignment

Experience in supporting change initiatives and translating feedback into practical, actionable improvements
Candidates will need to have ongoing working rights – this role is not available for sponsorship.
We will need the successful person to be available during the Christmas/New Year period and occasionally on weekends and after-hours.
