Why Your Role Matters:
The Data and Insights Analyst assists the Faculty’s decision making by undertaking analysis and deriving insights across a range of projects supporting the 2025 Faculty Plan and ensuring the organisation’s strategic priorities are met. The Faculty has ambitious plans and this role will be crucial in supporting the growth of our Canberra presence and optimising our existing operational activities.

Responsibilities:
The Data and Insights Analyst will be responsible for providing high quality analysis and interpretation of qualitative and quantitative data supporting the Faculty’s strategic decision making. You will clearly and concisely communicate your findings to ensure the impact of your work is fully realised. Your strength will come from your analytical ability and your ability to tell the story that the data is presenting. Demonstrating your capabilities in both analysis and communication will be crucial to your success in the role.

Who You Are: 
Our ideal candidate will have:

  • A degree and subsequent relevant experience in market research, information and data analysis, or an equivalent level of knowledge gained through any other combination of education, training and/or experience.
  • Advanced communication, presentation and writing skills with proven ability to tell a story with complex data and tailor your communications depending on stakeholder needs.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret, analyse complex data and produce high quality presentations/evidence-based reports and recommendations. Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to liaise effectively with all levels of staff and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan and manage moderately complex tasks/ projects with strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
  • Highly developed organisational skills, including ability to effectively manage multiple competing priorities to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Demonstrated experience in customer journey mapping, or other customer experience methodologies.

Eligibility: 
The successful candidate will be required to undertake pre-employment checks prior to commencement in this role. The checks that will be undertaken are listed in the Position Description. The successful candidate will be required to work from the UNSW Canberra campus. To be successful you will hold Australian Citizenship. UNSW is unable to offer visa sponsorship for this position.
