Post Doctoral Fellow in Mood disorders (up to 2 positions available)

Why this role matters:
The Post Doctoral Fellow(s) will contribute to the development of a mood disorders research team at UNSW, and based at the Black Dog Institute. The team will focus on early intervention in mood disorders (particularly bipolar disorder), as well as phenotyping and a better understanding of the subgroups within the broad group of conditions referred to as Mood disorders.
Proposed projects include a) optimisation of a multi-component model of care for bipolar disorder, b) evaluating the use of digital data to improve phenotyping and prediction of mood disorders and c) developing tailored treatments for mood disorders. In addition, there will be opportunities to develop, refine and test novel ideas broadly within mood disorders research. The Post Doctoral Fellow is expected to carry out independent and/or team-based research within the field and to carry out activities to develop their research expertise relevant to mental health and interventions for mood disorders.

Who you are:
Level A
- A PhD in a related discipline, and/or relevant experience.
- Proven commitment to proactively keeping up to date with discipline knowledge and developments.
- Experience with developing, evaluating or translating mental health interventions and/or experience in analyses of mental health data involving large samples, including data driven approaches.
- Demonstrated ability to undertake high quality academic research and conduct independent research with limited supervision.
- Demonstrated track record of publications and conference presentations relative to opportunity
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team, collaborate across disciplines and build effective relationships.
- Evidence of highly developed interpersonal and organisational skills.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate and interact with a diverse range of stakeholders and students.
Level B (in addition to the above)
- Demonstrated track record in research with outcomes of high quality and high impact with clear evidence of the desire and ability to continually achieve research excellence as well as the capacity for research leadership.
- A track record of significant involvement with the profession and/or industry.
- High level communication skills and ability to network effectively and interact with a diverse range of students and staff.
