Why your role matters
The Senior Program Officer plays a key role within the Division of Education & Student Experience at UNSW, contributing to the Experience Pillar and Employability Theme. This position is dedicated to designing, delivering, and providing operational support for both open and tailored programs across the university.
Key responsibilities include coordinating, designing and delivering coaching and student development programs, providing detailed reporting and analytical insights, developing effective communications, and supporting the implementation of systems and processes to enhance program outcomes. The position reports to the Manager, Student Development and does not include any direct supervisory responsibilities.
Specific accountabilities for this role include:
- Develop and oversee the delivery of key programs and initiatives to achieve operational and strategic goals.
- Support and drive the development of plans and schedules and effectively implement processes.
- Work collaboratively as part of a wider team on the development and delivery of assigned projects relating to UNSW Employability, including student development programs, workshops, events, and career development initiatives.
- Develop and manage effective communications with key stakeholders, both internal and external to UNSW Employability.
- Create consistent and comprehensive documentation and resources to support effective program delivery.
About You:
- Relevant tertiary qualification with subsequent relevant experience or equivalent competence gained through any combination of education, training and experience.
- Proven understanding of employment market trends and career development frameworks.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a high level of presentation experience and attention to detail for deliverables produced.
- Proven project experience, with an understanding of the project life cycle and development of project plans, objectives and documentation.
- Experience working with a range of computer systems and applications, including excellent skills in Microsoft Office. Experience in Learning Management Systems is an advantage.
- Excellent organisational skills, with a demonstrated ability to respond to changing priorities, manage multiple tasks and meet competing deadlines by using judgement and initiative.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and productively within a team, but also to take initiative and work independently while managing competing demands. with relevant policies and guidelines.
- Knowledge of health and safety responsibilities and commitment to attending relevant health and safety training.
