The role

Imagination’s engineers are pioneers in developing cutting-edge silicon technologies that power the highest-performing electronic products. As a member of our web and database engineering team, you will be tasked with designing, developing, and maintaining our in-house automation system. This system is vital to Imagination’s IP development process.

Your responsibilities will cover a broad spectrum of activities, from automation control to data presentation, including automated analysis and the generation of smart data insights.

You will be part of a team dedicated to equipping people with the tools and infrastructure needed to shape the future of technology.

You will:

• Harness cutting-edge full-stack web technologies to develop innovative automated solutions that are pivotal to Imagination’s IP development
• Create engaging and informative data visualizations using JavaScript.
• Implement automated statistical analyses on rapidly evolving datasets.
• Handle complex logic which enables the scheduling of automated testing 
• Interact with other teams to reduce redundancy via developing just-in-time solutions and carrying out system consolidation.
• Address internal customer tickets and incidents, and conduct blameless post-mortems.

You'll have:

• Proven expertise in developing web-based applications (both frontend and backend) using PHP 8+ and module based JavaScript.
• Versatile experience with web development frameworks such as Django, Symfony, Laravel, and Flask.
• Proficient in database design (SQL/NoSQL), data analytics, and handling big data.
• Skilled in data visualization, particularly with D3.js.
• Adept at user interface design and development.
• Experienced in creating and executing software unit and integration tests.
• Competent in scripting with Python.
• Familiar with both Windows and Linux operating systems.
• Proficient in using version control systems, such as Perforce or Git.

You might also have:

• Proficient in web server management, including Apache, IIS, and Nginx.
• Experienced in maintaining clustered database infrastructures, particularly MySQL.
• Advanced knowledge of Unix systems, encompassing system monitoring, shell scripting, debugging, resource balancing, and access control.
• Skilled in working with Continuous Integration (CI) systems such as Jenkins.
• Experienced in using monitoring and logging tools like Grafana, Zabbix, Nagios, and Graylog.
• Proficient in containerization technologies, especially Docker.
