The Opportunity
Based at our Narangba refinery, this role supports the collection, treatment, processing, and recycling of waste oils from industrial, manufacturing, and environmental sectors. As the team’s Chemist, you will be responsible for processing, testing, and reporting on daily waste and production oil streams. Additionally, you will also be responsible for:
- Conducting sampling, inspections, and analysis of production materials
- Supporting operations with testing and reporting activities
- Maintaining quality assurance documentation
- Collaborating with other Cleanaway production sites as required
- Ensuring safety and compliance in partnership with operational teams
- Managing laboratory housekeeping and inventory
About You
You are a detail-oriented, solutions-driven professional with a strong commitment to safety and compliance. You thrive in collaborative environments and bring technical expertise in chemistry and waste management.
- Degree in Chemistry with experience handling waste or hazardous chemicals in industrial settings
- Familiarity with wastewater treatment, chemical fixation/stabilisation, and field sampling
- Proficient in operating and calibrating laboratory instruments
- Strong understanding of risk assessments and work instruction development
- Accurate record-keeping in regulated environments
- Knowledge of chemical handling legislation, including storage and disposal protocols
