This pivotal role forms part of Levy’s AO Project team overseeing the end-to-end planning, coordination, and delivery of all catering infrastructure and asset management functions for the Australian Open. Working in close partnership with Tennis Australia, Melbourne & Olympic Parks, and Levy operations teams, this position ensures that all venues are fully prepared, compliant, and ready to perform to the highest standards during the event.
The Position
The Infrastructure & Assets Manager is responsible for managing the full lifecycle of event infrastructure and asset operations, ensuring the seamless delivery of Levy’s hospitality operations across the Australian Open precinct.
Key accountabilities include:

Strategic Infrastructure Planning: Lead the design, planning, and execution of infrastructure builds for AO activations, including catering facilities, storage compounds, and temporary outlets such as pop-up kitchens, reefers, and cool rooms.

Project & Stakeholder Coordination: Act as the primary liaison between the AO Project Manager, Tennis Australia, and Levy’s internal operations teams, ensuring collaborative planning, information flow, and timely execution of project milestones.

Maintenance & Asset Management: Oversee preventative and reactive maintenance (PM/RM) schedules, ensuring all catering assets and equipment are safe, reliable, and fully functional throughout the event cycle. Manage and maintain accurate asset registers and service logs within the Facility Maintenance System (FMS).

Financial Management: Develop and manage project budgets, monitor contractor costs and invoices, and ensure all infrastructure deliverables are completed within agreed financial parameters.

Operational Excellence: Uphold high standards of venue presentation and safety compliance, ensuring adherence to Compass Group’s HSE standards and AO-specific operational protocols.

Team Leadership & Development: Supervise and mentor coordinators and site-based staff, fostering a strong culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement. Contribute to seasonal workforce planning, recruitment, and induction.

Reporting & Documentation: Prepare detailed overlay plans, project reports, and maintenance records; document and circulate meeting outcomes and action items; and support audit, inspection, and compliance processes.
The Person
To be successful in this position, you will demonstrate:

A proven background in project management or infrastructure delivery, ideally within large-scale hospitality, stadia, or events environments.

Extensive experience in senior operations or facilities management roles, with a strong understanding of end-to-end project planning and execution.

Strong financial and analytical skills, including the ability to manage budgets, track expenditure, and deliver projects within scope and timeline.

Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence, collaborate, and build productive relationships across multiple levels.

Demonstrated ability to manage concurrent priorities and competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

A proactive, solution-oriented approach to continuous improvement and operational efficiency.

Proficiency in facility management systems (e.g., FMS), project tracking tools (e.g., Monday.com), and Microsoft Office suite.

Relevant tertiary qualifications in Project Management, Facilities Management, or a related discipline (highly regarded).
Preferred experience includes:

Prior experience in stadia, major event, or large-scale infrastructure delivery environments.

Knowledge of hospitality infrastructure and temporary overlay planning.

This is a full-time salaried contract position based at Melbourne Park, aligned to the delivery of the Australian Open 2026. The role encompasses pre-event planning, infrastructure mobilisation, tournament operations, and post-event demobilisation phases.
